SCrew Snow Plow

I am in a posting mood tonight. Just wondering why the owner's manual for the SCrew warns not to use the SCrew for snow plowing (not that I want to). Is the SCrew someone 'weaker' than the other F150s?

If you check the axle specs you will see that the gross rating for the front axle is less than other models, while the rear axle gross rating is higher. No doubt this is done because you have a longer body that places the center of gravity further back. At the same time, the lower rating of the front axle means hanging attachments on the front aint so good. My $64K guess.

I think they only rate them lower because of overall truck & passanger weight is more than other f150's.
This truck has the same front driveline as the other f-150's.The only one that is heavier is the 7700 package.
I would have no problem putting a plow on . I have seen a few other's where I live that have them. There is plenty of chevy tahoe's that have them here. They are all over. Maybe I'm wrong but this is what I was told by my dealer & his snow plow rep.
If I put one on I would stay as light as possible though.
I wish the screw had a 7700 pkg option.

Your original question of why they state this is only to cover there ***.

Ford does not reccommend a plow on any 150 that is not a standard cab. It is because of the extra weight on the front axle.
Exceptions are the 7700. I've seen one to date here in MI. There are very few 150's with plows on them, and fewer other than standard cabs. I would not plow anything other than my drive with a 1/2 ton truck anyhow.
