Question need remote oil filter

Does anyone have any information on a remote oil filter kit that will fit the 2001 supercrew 4x4 with the 5.4 liter engine and the engine oil cooler? I know ford puts them on their trucks but the parts guy at the dealer told me their is no part number for my truck because it has the oil cooler. I was going to get an aftermarket kit but they only ask for the thread size for the oil filter so I don't think they are taking into account any differences in the engine. I would apprichiate any information because right now the oil filter is in the worst spot they could have put it.

DAVESUPERCREW did you send me a private message from another web site asking a similar question?

I can't imagine that your truck is any different that mine. I have an 01 SuperCrew XLT, 5.4L 4x4 Off-Road package and Tow Package....and most every option available on an XLT. My parts guy had all the parts for me in about a week.

Putting the new casting on was easy once you get the lower radiator hose off. It took me two hours and the loss of a lot of blood and skin, but I finally got it off. NOTE>>>>>the &^%$#@! hose clamps are bonded to the hose so do NOT try to rotate the clamp. If you damage the hose, list price on a new one from Ford is $77 bucks. NAPA has them for $39 bucks and you get to put normal screw type clamps back on.

I would stick with the Ford remote filter. Everything is made to fit the vehicle. Even the hoses are mounted to the filter head in a special angle so as to clear everything

I really miss the remote filter my 1997 F150 had. I would like to add one to my Supercrew. It sure made changing the oil a much neater affair! My old truck had the Off Road and Tow Packages. I wonder why my Supercrew (4X4 w/ Tow Package) doesn't have the remote filter. Cost I guess... Anyway, can you advise how much you paid, part numbers, etc?

Thanks!

Bud755, I wish I had all of the info to give you, but I don't. Some of the cost of the remote filter was absorbed by the dealer when I bought the truck. My share was $50 bucks. They ordered the parts and billed them to the dealership, so I don't have any paper work on it at all. I'm guessing that the dealer cost on the parts was about $100 bucks and retail was around $130 to $150 bucks.

The only part numbers that I have is for the casting that replaces the existing filter mount that is on the engine block and the gasket. The number for the casting (adaptor) is F75Z-6B895-DA, and the number for the gasket is F6AZ-6840-BA.

The filter head and hose assembly had been removed from the original box, so no numbers to share with you.

If you have your dealer order the parts, BE SURE that they toss in the three threaded frame clips (and cap screws) that slip into the openings on the frame. If you don't have those, you can't mount the filter head. You also need to get the metric nuts (nylock nuts or nuts and lock washers) that secure the hose assembly to the studs on the adaptor on the block.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
