Saw the Lincoln Blackwood

Has anyone seen the Blackwood and Cadillac version of the Avalanche?

I recently went to an auto show and they had the Lincoln Blackwood on display. I was not impressed given the price. Its a very fancy Screw with a hotter engine. Only 2WD. I can't see why anyone would buy this thing. I would be afraid to do anything with it in that I might scratch it.

As an aside, they also had Cadillac's version of the Avalanche. It looks better than the Avalanche (not to hard to do unless you're an Aztec) as they have painted all the plastic parts on the sides the same color as the body. It doesn't have that Rubbermaid trash can look. I thought it was a better value than the Blackwood. At least its 4WD! I still wouldn't buy either.

I ould take my Screw over either of them. If you want a luxury truck, in my opinion its hard to beat the King Ranch.

I don't know how well the BlackWood will sell, I agree with you it's a bit pricy. I would like to see that interior in a SCREW with the Ford outside. But hey only time will tell if they sell or not. I personally have not seen one even though I see thousands of SCREWS.

I would like to have that engine/horsepower in my screw.

The blackwood is not built off the F-150 truck platform it's built off the nav./expy. SUV platform.

I saw one of those Caddy's at the gas station & it only had 1 option on it (still had the window sticker on) & that was a power moonroof.Price tag of $51,500.00 NO THANK YOU!!!!!

Saw the Cadillac Escalade EXT (Avalanche). IMHO it's a nice truck. I can't stand looking at the Avalanche and its ungodly plastic body accents. The dealer had several on the lot priced from $50 to $53k w/options like upgraded rims and a custom hard tonneau cover. It was plush on the inside like you'd expect a Cadillac to be. However, I'm not a fan of GM interiors. I think their interiors are terribly outdated and hard on the eyes.

If had the disposable income to ride comfortably in a Blackwood or an EXT without worrying how to make my next mortgage payment, I'd go for the EXT. The EXT's body, upgrades, and amenities are enough to distinguish it from the Avalanche. I don't think Ford did enough to separate the Blackwood from its upperscale Screws such as the Harlely edition. Again, if I had the income, I'd go for the Harley over the Blackwood and the EXT.

The new Expeditions have me salivating at the next generation of Screws.

Not to bad looking, but where is the front bumper. This need's a chrome front bumper. I hope the f-150's have bumper's instead of plastic cladding. I plan on buying again in 2003 so I hope the 150 changes from that photo,or I'll have to go else where . Maybe a superduty. I'm sorry but a truck has to have some chrome steel bumper's. I hope they don't yuppie out the f150's.

Thank's for posting the pic's.
Mike

The '04 F-150's will not look like the SUV's any more. I believe that they'll resemble the SuperDuty's.

JScharton,
I thought the f150 was getting a face lift in 2003.

2004 Model Year, so (as long as the launch is not delayed), you'll probably see them in Q3 and Q4 of 2003.
