Need pictures of FX4

I need to see pictures of the SuperCrew with the FX4 package. If any of you have this package please show me pictures. I'm thinking of trading up.

I know the brochure has an XLT with the FX4 package. I have the FX4 package, but no pictures..sorry. All the dealers had was FX4 packages when I went to buy with the low interest.

The FX4 includes upgraded rims(5 spoke alluminum), tires, skid plates, special white rancho shocks and neat decal of FX4 on the side. If you are using your truck for off roading, I suppose the extra $650 bucks is worth the extra options, but probably not. If you are driving the truck around town then the extra money is wasted.

Speaking of skid plates, <sarcasm on> do you think Ford could install anything less substantial? <sarcasm off>

Know what you mean, Dennis... You'd think Ford would have something thicker than 28-gauge sheel metal...

I am sure the ride is rough onroad, but the suspension probably shines off-road (in it's element, if you will)

I've got a 2002 Screw with the FX4. I'll try and get a pic booted up tomorrow.

It does ride a bit rougher/sportier than a non FX4 truck...blame it on the Rancho shocks!

The rough ride is to the shock's . The FX4 does not have any different suspension than a regular 4x4. I would guess that the Rancho's that come on the FX4 are bottom of the line. If you wanted a better ride change shock's to a good aftermarket one.
Unfortunatly(for us buyer's) these Off-road package's are no more siuted for off road than the regular 4x4. It might sit a little bit higher with the 265 tire's but that's about it.

I have both an ORP and a non-ORP truck and I can say, without hesitation, that the ORP equipped truck handles offroad duties a heck of a lot better than the other one. While the non-ORP truck is silky smooth on paved roads, it tended to wallow and bounce so much offroad that it felt like it would bounce rignt off the road/trail when I really pushed it. The ORP, on the other hand, sticks to the road like glue when compared to the other one. Sure, it's a little bit rougher on paved roads, but not a whole lot. In fact, I like the ride a lot better.

I was never a fan of the ORP (fX4) option. My opinion has taken a 180. If you're going offroad or drive a lot on rutted dirt roads, get the fx4.

The only thing that's not worth the extra bucks are the stamped sheet metal skid plates.

Of course, if you're really serious about offroading, you'll not be satisfied and will want to setup your truck with top of the line components.

How so you feel about the FX4 ORP compared to the tow package with an upgraded payload setup. I did that because I did not want the gray (LT or Dark) interior. It needed to be tan.

Thanks PBALL

It looks nice, but how did he get the FX4 package without the lower two tone paint that comes with the package?

At least for the 2002's, the two-tone paint is NOT part of any package.

Dennis,
Do you think the 265 tire's & heavy duty shock's could make that much of a difference ? It will make thing's feel a little stiffer & handle better, but the suspension's are the same . Hey ditto on the skid plate's ...Kind of a joke & a ripp off but I bought them anyway.

Are the skid plates any diffrent on the 2002 over the 2001? I assume as long as they do there job, I'm not woried. Cource I don't do anything too crazy offroading as I don't want to hurt my baby.

Under my SCREW

ya know now that I look at it, it is a bit thin, but I'm not going to run out and buy a thicker one, not unless I get a lift, bigger tires, etc, to make it look nice.
