Die Cast Model

Well I have pictures of the Diecast model I got for Christmas. It was a Black 2001 Harley Davidson 1/18 scale American Muscle.
It come partly assembly. I completely deassemble it and painted all the pieces to match my truck. There are still some difference like the front bumper. You can look in my gallery if you wish to compare the model pictures to the real truck.

Beautiful job...

I have been looking for a non-harley Screw die-cast since I got my truck. Looks like you just took matters into your own hands....
Good job.

I have a red svt lightning die-cast, and it has a tonneau. maybe if you got your hands on one of those, and painted it?....hmmmm, the endless possibilities

Thumbs up Great Job!

Wow, that really looks nice! I have one of these, but am afraid I'd really screw it up (no pun intended)

How did you disassemble it? I haven't really looked that close at it, but is it glued together, or what?

What type of paint did you use?

Hey guys thanks for the compliments.

Mike,
Yes I need to find something to make a tonneau cover out of. The real truck has a fiberglass one.

Maxum,
The model came partly assembed. The steel body was assembled. The undercariage motor interior bumpers etc use a combination of glue and screws. there is some medal and some plastic. I was able to disassemble from the body things like the doors and hood and tailgate etc. They are held with screws. The windshield and glass was riveted to the medal and had to be masked inside and out. If yours is all glued it may be a different manufacturer. To keep the black trim on the doors etc I had to use masking tape and an exacto knife. The paint is a touchup paint with the color code of my truck and then a coat of clearcoat on top all obtained from a local auto parts store.

Believe it or not Walmart. I am in Canada but others in the US have obtained them as well. Check out this other topic for US pricing.
