Door speakers

Hello,

I know I should post this in the speaker threads, but I wanted feedback only from Supercrew owners...

Does anybody here have the Polk MM465's installed in the front doors? Do they fit OK, and do you have any pictures you could post?

Please let me know, thanks.
Ryan

Also considering:
10" Polk Momo MM100 subwoofer (w/ box from subbox.net)
Polk DX7 (5x7's) for the rear
Amp & Deck - ?? undecided

This is not exactly what you are looking for but might help in the back.....I am using Polk DX7's in both the front and rear doors.

They fit and sound great. For the rear doors you will need to use the spacer that comes with the speaker for magnet clearance. This will leave the very tight to the door panel but they work fine.

I too have Polk DX7's in all 4 doors, sound pretty good now that I've installed my amp! Now to Ryan's question. Not sure why you need only SCrew owner's opinions since the front doors on the other 99-01 F150's is the same. First off, I don't think the 465's won't fit in your stock speaker holes without cutting part of the sheetmetal. I would go w/ MM455's instead to avoid cutting. I did a search for "Polk + MM455" on the speaker board and found this:

https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...ght=Polk+MM465

I think Ruune wrote up a step by step how to on how he got his 455's in (w/ pics). I did some searching but couldn't find it, maybe you'll have better luck.

I'm thinking about putting in the MM455's in my front doors. If you're interested in buying my DX7's for your back doors they're yours for $50 plus shipping (They've been in use for a month and a half, I still have the original box). Email me at ttph@hawaii.rr.com if you're interested...

Good luck on the rest of your install. Just don't forget, take your time and plan your system out before rushing the Jerkit City to buy stuff.
