Automatic Headlights

I have the auto headlight option on my truck and for the most part I like it. Is there a way to adjust when the lights come on???? Where is the sensor located?????

I do wish the driving lights come on with it, but the truck is 3 weeks old, I do not think I am ready to mess with it yet as per an earlier posting!!!!!!

THANKS ALL!!!

Joey "O"

On your dash

there is a long oval plastic thingy on top of your dashboard
on the passenger side. There is about 6 clips, wedge up one end
and then stick your fingers under and pull up slowly to remove.

on one side there is a set screw that adjusts time on.

search on autolights for further info

Joeeyo - Congrats on the new truck. I understand about your hesitation on the fogs, but just to let you know, I did the foglight switch mod months ago and have had no problems with it whatsoever. I don't use the auto light feature because since I did the foglight mod, I like to run around with just the parking lights and the fogs (until it gets too dark, of course!)

be careful adjusting autolamp sensor!

FYI -
The set screw on the autolamp sensor is VERY touchy - you don't have to turn it much to adjust it and if you turn too far it will break.

I hate to revive such an old thread, but can anyone tell me which way to turn this adjustment to make the lights come on sooner? I tried counter (or loosening), but have not had the chance to drive it yet. Does that sound correct? Thanks

Sounds like you did it right. Just hope you didn't turn the screw too far, it's very sensitive. Good luck with it.

I turned it about 1/2 turn, but so far I don't think it really made any difference. I guess I will try turning it a little more.

I am unable to enable my Autolights completely. Only the Headlight comes on in Dust and shuts off in dawn. Replaces Switch and Sun/light sensore. Securit module checks good.

Does anyone have any sugestions?

Thanks,

Brad
