Aftermarket shock's for Screw's

I know this belong's in the suspension forum. Since the Screw has a little different weight distribution I thought I would post here. I want to put on different shock's . I have the trailer/tow package with the supposedly h.d. shock's. I do run my truck pretty hard & do go off-road from time to time for a good pounding, but most mile's are on the road (which here in Wisconsin is just like off-roading). Looking for better ride for both.
Would aftermarket shock's be any better than the H.D. shock's Ford give's on the T.T. pkg. If so can anyone recommend any.
What about Edelbrock IAS ? Rancho ? Bilstein ?
Thank's...Mike

Thumbs up Shocks

I haven't posted in a while, but I think I can help.

I have a 99 F150-ext cab. 5.4L etc etc. I am trading it in 2 weeks from now for a new Screw, however I am concerned about the ride of the new truck, as this one is perfected.

Although who can resists 0 percent financing and I am trading in a fully paid for truck so....TIME FOR A NEW ONE !!!!!!

Anyways I am currently running the Eddlebrock performance IAS shocks, best things I have ever seen, I can corner like a bat outta hell, and she stiffens up off road, rides like caddy(sorry about the GM ref. but it is a great car the STS), on the highway.

I will be getting the Screw either Lariat or XTR package. I will deffinitly change the Rancho 9000's to the Eddlebrock if the performance and ride isn't compareable.

Heslin.

Billsteins are also supposed to be one of the best shocks money can buy. I have heard good things about them but have no experiences to share. I did have a set of Edelbrocks on my '97 x-cab 4x4. They made a world of difference though I put 'em on at 60K miles.

If you want the Edelbrocks check out www.desertrat.com. You can buy 4 for $239.00 + shipping. Not bad!

4 wheelin'??? Go with the Rancho 9000's. I feel the Edelbrocks are a great shock, but are more suited for pavement. The Rancho 9's are 5-way adjustable. More than likely all you need to set them on for normal road driving is at level '1' front and rear. If you get larger tires and do offroading, you can quickly set them up to any combination. Same goes for trailering if you plan on that in the future.

Edelbrock IAS's are on my wish-list for the SCrew, but with buying a house <choke> this week, I'm afraid my truck's gonna be the way it is for awhile.

I had IAS's on my last truck (Tahoe 4x4) and loved them.
