Today I was getting onto my truck & noticed a 1/4" hole on the left edge of my drivers seat. I pushed down on it like I was getting into the truck & could feel a spring.Has anyone else had this happen ? If so what type of resolution did you have to the problem ? My truck has 20,000 mile's on it so it's out of warranty.
I have generation 1 seats. Cloth caption's chairs.

20,000 miles is out of warranty? It's my understanding it's 3years 36000 miles. Sorry this happened.

Your warranty should be good for 36,000 miles. The Gen 1 seats have this problem. It happened to my leather seats, and after ripping three pairs of pants and cutting my leg twice, I took it in. The dealer will either replace the seat entirely, or they will send it to an uphoulstry(?) shop to repair it.

 

Sorry about your seat, there just doesn't seem to be great support and durability on the outside edges of these SC seats...but there is a bright side:

The spring could have shot up right thru the middle...OUCH! :-)
