i dont know anything about the LSII cover you have
(weight etc) but i have a fiberglass cover which is
rather heavy-so the lift pistons required reinforcement
where they met the inside bed walls
i used 1 and 1/2 inch zinc washers on both sides
of the piston attachment point, which provided the
appropriate stiffness to raise and lower the cover without
buckling the bed wall
you may not have this problem if your cover is lighter

The LSII is pretty heavy with the wing on it. I have plans to attach a piece of 3/16" flat steel behind the tie down eye at the bottom and to the bedrail at the top, and then attach the actuator to that. I am concerned about the force on the cover itself more than anything. The LSII arms have a sort of "v" shape to them so it opens kind of like scissors and the lift arms are in between them. Still trying to come up with the best design before I tear up my cover!

If you can, post some pics of your setup. I'm sure alot of us here would like to see it. Thanks!
