HArd to explain engine issue.
I have had my SCREW for less than 2 months now with about 3,500 miles on it. 2 times now, less than a minute after starting it up, the engine would throttle up and down like it is about to die/run out of fule. It dosen't actually die, but the RPMS go from 600-1000, then down to 600, back up to 1000. and it will do this like its dying but coming back until i gun the engine a bit. One it did this in park and the second time it did it in drive waiting at a intersection (just left a parking lot), had to put it in netral and gun it to make it stop.
If it does it again I will take it to the dealer, but I was wondering if anyone else had had this happen. My engin was cold both times, middle of the day in about 80 degee weather, I have a FIPK and a cat-back, everything else is stock.

My truck did virtually the same thing. Sometimes it would even drop as low as 400rpm. I thought it was going to die on me. I tool it to a dealer in St Louis and they found one of the cylinders was mis-firing due to an EPROM(?) glitch. It took just a few minutes to update the computer and I have not had the problem since!
This sounds more like a computer problem than a mechanical one. Due to the infrequency of it. My SCREW is a GEN III late 2001 model so I'm kinda suprized that its not the latest EPROM revision. I will talk to my dealer and see what I can do.

Mine just did the exact same thing. I started it up, backed up out the drive then put it in park to check the mail and I noticed it. A few miles later at the first red light I put it in park and it was running like a charm. I do have an airforce one and a superchip. I figured it was just because it was cold and I gunned it getting out the driveway then stopped it and put it in park and the computer/chip had a brain fart. Oh well it never did it again.

I had about 24K miles when the oxygen sensor acted up. But I would be willing to bet you could have one act up with less miles. Mine wasn't when the beast was cold, I noticed it most in stop and go commute traffic. Felt like it was going to stall out, not something you want on southbound I680 going into Fremont.

I too have the FIPK and I belive that it is a brain (chip) fart. So if it continues to be an issue, I will take it in, otherwise my laziness is telling me I don't want to have to take it into the service department. I may ask one of my buddies who used to work as a mechanic at my dealer.
I have not had the issue again, hopefully it won't happen anymore.
Now I have a Super Chip, I have no idea if that has anything to do with it but I will post if it does happen again.

Just had the same thing happen to me yesterday before leaving for work. I do about 100mi. roundtrip commute 5 days a week for work, and I've so far logged in roughly 3300mi. since being purchased early October. I started my Crew and turned my ventilation control to off after almost a minute of warm up when immediately the idle started going up and down. It didn't go so low as to seem as if it was going to die, but it was a major concern to me regardless. I then gave the engine a quick rev and that was that, smooth idle from then. I'm assuming it had something to do with me turning off the ventilation after a minute of warm up. I have only used Chevron 87 octane and did an oil change at 1237mi.. I also got a 40series Flowmaster muffler installed. Don't know if any of those things have an effect on the wierd idle, but I'll keep everyone updated on any news.
