not real helpfull ... but

Check the Ford web site. I have read that it was NOT available with the s'crew. I live in GA so I have no need for a snow plow ... but I have read it somewhere on Ford's web site. It list trucks that a Snow Plow is an option and it specifically stated not available on the SuperCrew. I don't know why? A truck is a truck ... right????

Ford specifically states in much of its literature that they do not offer a plow-prep package on the screw that the screw is not to be used for plowing. I would venture an explanation as to why but it would just start a fight.

Well, what the heck... they can whack on me. If you look at the axle load specs for the SCrew vs the other models, you'll find that the front axle weight rating is less, while the rear axle weight rating has increased, no doubt to account for the fact that the passenger area pushes the CG back. Less weight carrying ability on the front means they don't want to see things break with a plow hanging on the front.

Where I live in Wisconsin I have seen 3 Screws with plow's on them. 2 of the were Western plow's & 1 was a plow system called Sno-way. I only had a chance to talk to 1 of the guy's with the Western plow to see how the truck was holding out & he said it plow's great. He had them on other f-150's why not this one.
I think that it's because of the total weight limit's with passenger's included would be to much with the plow added.
The reason I say this is this is what a western dealer told me when I inquired about it.This certain dealer here will not put plow's on any extended cab or crew cab for this reason.
Even if it has a snow plow prep package on it & is an f-250 or f-350 he said no-way.
The other dealer's here say they would do it no problem.
The truck will handle it just fine depending on how you plow & who's behind the wheel & what type of plow set up you get,
E.G. a 9 ft. v-plow would kill this truck but a 6-7 ft western or poly plow would be a better choice for the Screw & not doing commercial parking lot's would be even wiser.
I'm sorry to be long winded on this just relaying the info that I got from the plow dealer's.

I was basically told the same thing from Western dealer while lookin for a plow for my 92 extended cab. The front axle weight is less due to the extra cab weight. guess this would go for the screw too. I am going with the sno-way, because it weighs a lot less than the steel blades. The screw stays in the garage in the winter anyway..

I belive that Ford is basically saying don't put a plow on the SCREW for more of a liability factor rather than can it do it or not.

Don't get a whole lot of snow in San Diego, so I really didn't care to much about this one...
