What would you add/change?
I agree with most everything you guys posted , but I have one more ... I would like to see more vertical view out of my rear view mirror , you can't see from the top of the rear glass to the tail gate. hummmm ... ok a few more ... a little less body roll around turns . ... maybe some aux. backup lights ... maybe front and rear sonar sensors so I can get this thing all the way into a parking place without worring about bumping something. ... console like the Expy.... holster mounted under the seat to hold my Glock !
My one wish for my Screw would be to have the feature on the A/C where it circulates the cabin air and not get air from the outside. My dodge had this and it was great! Never had smoke or exhaust fumes in the truck. I don't think Ford has cought on to this idea I haven't seen it in any of their cars or trucks.

Hey GA Southern Eagle,
I agree, recirculation is the way to go. However, I think Ford does have it now, it's the Max A/C setting. The difference between Max A/C and A/C settings is that cabin air is closed off in Max A/C mode and is flowing into and out of the cabin for A/C mode.
I'm pretty damn sure on this one but, hey, I've been wrong before and It shouldn't take but one or two replies and you should find out if I'm correct or full of it. Well, someone may say I'm correct and full of it or some other combination but then you would just have to consider the source of the info and go from there.
Also, since we are talking air flow on screws. I noticed, while installing my remote cd changer in my front center console, that there are ducts under both front seats. I found out that in certain positions of the comfort control mode **** that there is air discharge coming from those vents under the seats. The air is of course directed to the rear passengers but that's all I noticed. I'm almost certain that my '00 Scab had no such vents or ductwork, but then again, I'm never 100% sure of anything that I didn't design or have control of, just an observation of my former truck.

Ok, One more small thing....the back seats fold down nice to give extra load capacity....would it be too much to ask that the back doors open up enough to get something large into the space.
Just a thought!

I too saw the vents under the front seats that point to the back. I experimented with these and you can get cold air out of them by setting the control to "Panel/Floor". It will take air from the outside but will send cold (conditioned air, as in the compressor is running) to the panel and the front and rear floor vents. Also heat will come out of these too. If it's not very hot outside then this is a great way to dehuminify the cab.
I have a question. I have the red lights (or at least appear to be) on the rear doors. And have never seen them on. What do these do? If you open the rear doors there actually on the door like at the handle hight.

I guess that would make sense. I would rather them be lights as well. But thats not a big deal. Also I do agree with the back doors, they should open more or be a bit wider. There has been a few times when I have loaded large Servers for work in the back of my truck (with seats down). I could barley get them in the back. Had to do a bit of navigating with 2 people to get them in.
Hey guys,
I have had my front and rear door panels off to upgrade my speakers. The front lenses have bulbs but the rear doors are just as was mentioned, they are reflectors only. There should be no real reason that they couldn't be fitted with little bulb fixtures but then you'd need to have door switches too.

Top 10 things I would change on my SCrew:
10. Make the front seats of my lariat as soft and comfy as the back.
9. Memory on the power seats. 5'3 wife always screws the seat up.
8. Ix-Ney on the factory installed unningboards-Rey.
7. Wider 17 inch tires
6. Seatbelt chimes no more after a quick browse of the owner's manual.
5. Sunglass holder on the headliner console (not an option with the moonroof for some reason.)
4. More poop under the hood of the 5.4 V8
3. Better exhaust system to make the truck sound like it has a V8.
2. Four words, "Fuzzy Dice Standard Equipment"
And, the # 1 thing I would change on my SCrew:

Love my 2001 Gen 1 Supercrew 4x4 (4.6L)....BUT I SURE WISH WE HAD A CHOICE OF GEARS, instead of being stuck with the standard 3:55 gearing!
Why is it that Ford does not give us Supercrew owners a gearing choice??
The 4.6L is a great engine and it does everything I need it to do...AND MORE, but I sure with I had the 3:73 gearing.
Other than the grearing choice...this has been a great Canadian truck!

Wants & Needs
In addition to the above:
1. Radio controls on the sterring wheel.
2. 3.73 and 4.10 rear gears optional on 2wd.
3. One piece rear window (Make the slider an option).
4. Better, brighter, back up lights.
5. Paint match the tail gate handle.
My ball hole plug came off the 250 sitting on the lot next to my SCrew ........ (the salesmans idea, not mine)

I want a seperate button to disable the AC compressor. Lots of cars come with that type of control. It allows you to direct vent air anywhere in the cab without being forced to use AC or Heat. In the Supercrew, either the AC or the heater has to run if we want fresh air at the floor or the defrost. Why does Ford want us to run the AC anytime the selector is put on anything other than vent?
I would also like to see Ford get rid of that huge gap where the end of the dash meets the A-pillar. It makes an otherwise beautiful dash look cheap and poorly fitted.
I want side vent windows. Even if they cause some wind noise when closed.
I want a stiffer roof/B piller. There is way to much shudder in the roof and B piller when someone closes a door in my Supercrew. I guess that it saves some weight but it makes gives the truck a very cheap and non-solid feel.
I want less water traps in the roof. Puddles of water cause rust. Come on Ford, you have been making F-150's for more than 50 years now. You know better than to do that.
I want a 6.5 -7 foot bed, better door speakers, less body sway on corners, better inner wheel well splash protection, an oil filter location that doesn't splash oil on a crossmember, better water protection on the wiring side of the factory tow harness connection, and a front passenger seat that offers the same "thigh" dimensions as the driver seat (the passenger seat is shorter).
I love my Supercrew, but there is lots of room to make this an even better truck. I'll go now and give someone else a chance.
