First warranty repair for Screw

Today I take my truck to the dealer for it's first warranty repair. Nothing major. Had the truck for about 5 months now. Driver side window molding gets folded over when window finishes closing.

Anyone else have this problem?

I have not had that problem, but the passenger window is driving me crazy!! I have taken it in once for a popping noise when you raise and lower the window. They replaced a regulator twice and put in two motor assemblies before it was finally fixed. Lasted about 6 weeks - now it has started again. Not to mention it has slowed the window down. Oh well, guess that is what a warranty is for. Thank goodness I bought an extended warranty. This is my first Ford - hope they don't disappoint me!!!

3 weeks before warranty work

I had my window lock replaced. I have kids in the back seat and you sure don't want them suckers rolling down the windows when you're going 70 or so down the interstate. All they did was pop up the plastic part that the part is mounted to. Then just replaced the switch, pretty easy. One thing I did notice that I'm gonna tell them is the molding that supposed to stick to the truck, on the inside of the drivers door hangs down every once in a while. This happen to anyone else?

I have noticed that (sometimes, not very often) My driver side window when rolling up will slam into the top before it stops almost like the motar is not stoping when it should. I hope this dosen't cause a problem in the future ( at least before my warrenty runs out).

I'm having problems with both map lights not working. I've taken the whole light assembly off, checked the bulbs and the connections and all is ok. For some reason, mine just doesn't want to light up. If someone knows of this problem and there is a fix....let me know.

molding problem

I have noticed that the black molding on the top of the windows (where window hits at the top) sags in the middle. Both the passenger side and drivers side. I pushed the passenger side up three times now and it does sag within a few days.

I can see where if it continues to sag it would cause the problem you described. Can you confirm that it is "folding over" at the top for me.

Thanks

Window molding

Window molding replaced..problem solved...for now.

Little "experience" with service manager though. I put a Kenwood radio in the truck. It has a foldaway faceplate. Turned the unit off when I took it in for repair. (controls hidden)

Pick the truck up...radio is playing and on a station I do not listen to. (I don't speak Spanish..no offense)

Told the manager...."my truck is in for repair, not for the mechanics musical enjoyment". His response should have been. "You are correct..I will speak to my mechanics"....Instead it was "how do you know you turned it off?"

Should I be mad?..or am I making a big deal out of nothing?

So far I haven't had any problems with my windows. I did have a problem with my rear running lights. After a month of owning my SCrew, my rear lights stopped working. My brake lights worked, but not my rear license and running lights. After checking all my fuses, I stopped at my dealer to have them look at it. Well after two hours of waiting they found a wire broken.

I know how you feel Dan about the radio. When I turned in my truck, I actually left my Alpine deck on with the volume a little high. When I picked it up the radio was off and took me a few minutes to figure how to turn it on since there was no marked on/off button. I never turned it on or off after it was installed, so I guess I was a little upset about it. I'm just glad they fixed my problem and it was fairly painless experience.

Changing my radio station or turning the stereo on or off really wouldn't bug me much, the aditude of the mechanic would. Someone needs to teach him some customer service skills.

I don't really trust anyone so I would remove any valuable items from the truck, but just for the heck of it leave some change in the truck and see if any of it goes missing.
