Cool! How does it sound? Is the sound stage fairly centered up front? Also is the 1 10" sub a good enough kick for your taste?

I want to put a system in my truck without spending too much money and to keep it stock looking (except for the head unit) for a clean look.

One more question, do you have any problems keeping the amp in the storage space behind the seats from overheating?

sounds great!

I'm not sending much signal to the rear (stock) speakers, and the mids and highs are very clean at high volume, and the bass is perfect (fills the cab and hits hard enough for me, but doesn't knock over people 25 feet away).

the amp supposedly should be fine as long as I leave the storage cover off the storage space. I'm going to keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't get too warm (the sub has only been in there for 48 hours so I haven't tested it much).

I've got my Xtant amp in the back storage on the drivers side...jack is on the other side. It's fan cooled, and it was installed vertically without the over on it...shouldn't be a problem at all.

I can definitely recommend Xtant if you don't mind spending a few extra bucks...awesomely clean......

I have a relative at Sound Advice who discounted the stuff for me, and they installed it...very professional and seamless.

As a side note, Shaquille O'neal's Lincoln Navigator was next to my truck in the shop, getting no less than 80K bux in video and audio equip installed! I looked it over...lowered, white, low profile tires, leather inside of course..the seat was lowered and pushed waaayyy back with the back reclined so he could sit in it. The front grille had a superman like 'S' on it instead of the lincoln emblem...interesting. Didn't see him, they said he had left a couple of hours earlier...

Sorry for the quick post above...part of Shaq's 80K bux was home theatre stuff too...not just mobile audio/video...

the sound is pretty quiet... seems like the air intake makes more noise! performance is good as far as i know, supposed to aid in the low end. when i get my boat and start towing, i'll let you know! ;-)

i really like the sound. it hits well and fits nice and snug back there, out of everyone's way. I can't imagine how anyone could ever get a 12" under that seat, many 10"ers are too deep! The sony 10" i got is one of the 10" subs that is thin enough to fit. but who knows, maybe someone has done it.

good luck, and keep us posted!
thanks,
Wes

Congrats on the install Pesos. Nice pics also. I have a couple of questions: why did you not get the beige carpeted enclosure assuming that you have a beige interior? I plan on ordering myself the Subbox and a JL Audio 10W6 Subwoofer. I'm not sure about the amp yet, but your MTX looks like it should do the job. Also, why would you need a 2-preout head unit if you're only running one amp?

I'm not asking these questions to be critical or anything, it's just that I plan on getting a very similar setup and I want to get as much info as possible. Thanks.

hi rmcool =)

i got the two preouts since (supposedly the way my buddy wired it) is sending two independent signals to the amp, one for the separates and one for the sub (but I'm far from an expert and I may be totally off).

as for the carpet color, I actually have the grey leather interior, so the stock grey box is the closest match for it... be sure to check w/Andy at subbox to make sure the box can hold the JL, I heard it might be too shallow...

good luck!
Wes

I believe I've seen other post here of people who have put a JL 10w6 in the subnet box. Can anyone verify this?

I will take your advice, however, and ask Andy. Based on the dimensions of the box and the woofer, it should fit.
