supercrew mpg

Well, I now have just over 8,000 miles on my supercrew. I keep a pretty accurate log of my miles and gas input. With a total of 8,120.9 miles and a total of 611.8 gallons of gas used, I come up with 13.27 miles per gallon. You can see a list of mods on the vehicle below. I do like the gas petal.

8201 miles total and my fuel usage has been 543.355 gallons for a calculated 14.51 MPG. 2001 4x2, 5.4 Limited Slip Differential. By the way, no modifications to the truck (yet!).

At Just Under 11K here are my numbers, I have no mods as of now but would like to install a catback and air intake. Speaking of numbers and records, I love Ownersite.com, as long as I remember to add the record, it will keep very accurite control. Thanks Steve.

I have right at 2100 miles on my truck. With 2 long trips totaling 1400 of those miles. Checked my mileage this morning... from full to full, drove 428.2 miles, took 23.5 gallons to fill for 18.22 mpg. This was 99% Hiway miles, with just a few miles in town, from hotel to eat etc. My '98 Explorer XLT (4.0 SOHC V-6) only averaged 19 or so. I am pleased with my mileage so far, expect it to improve once I get it broke in.

Hey Nodrive55!

If I had to guess as to why your mileage is lower, if you're anything like me, then having all of those great mods you've got would be just toooooo tempting to the right foot!

It's interesting to see from the posts above that having a 4x4 will cost ya about 2 MPG - but I guess it's true that you gotta pay to play.
