Getting SCREWED Tommorow

I will soon be the proud new owner of a White, XLT, 4x4, F-150 Super Crew!!

They even let me drive it home tonight to let me decide!

Everyone in my family liked it at first sight and DAMMM it looks good in my driveway.

This is the largest purchase I have ever made in my life... (by the way I'm 23)

So I would like to thank everyone on this board in helping me make my desicion as I almost knew more than the dealer did about the SCREW.

Cool, good luck with your decision and my guess is it's too late to change your mind once you drive it home. That new truck fever cannot be shaken easily especially if you can swing the payments and still be able to buy some lunch with what's left over.

By the way, I am a little older and my first new car was a '77 Volare with a Road Runner package with a slap stick automatic, 360 V-8 and white letter tires. Screeming down the highway for the final sum of about $7,000.00. Man, cars prices sure have surpassed my personal income increases over the years. Just a little history as you reference to your age brought back some fond memories of my first new car.

Good Luck with your new S'Crew, I say that now because like Dave said, you can't shake that new truck feeling too easy. Face it, its yours you just haven't signed yet............White is pretty, I saw a gen I yesterday at Sears.........

Ed

PS: Dave, my first new car was a 82 Jeep Wrangler Renagade Red, 4X4, hard top, soft top, carpet, the works..... $9854.00

Yeah, letting you drive it home is a good sales tactic. I drove my 1999 F150 SC for a week before I bought it, same for my Screw, but then again, I know the GM pretty well.........

Well it's now sitting in my driveway and it reallly makes the place look better.

Heres the specs on it, payed about 27,500 for it after rebates and before tax/docs. It does pay to wait until the end of the model year, asuming everything isn't picked over.

XLT (GEN III)
White
4x4
5.4 Triton
Limited Slip
Off road package
Cloth 40/60 bench
power EVERYTHING including the driver seat
bed extender
Type III tow package
17-inch 10-spoke cast aluminum wheels
Goodyear offroad tires
Factory running boards
Prmeium sound (crappy sound, but will replace at least speakers soon)
Sliding rear window

Anyways, I am so happy that I can see my grin in my monitor as I type...

I will keep active in this forum with any problems/mods I find to share with everyone.

Right now the option I am looking into is a power sliding rear window. The dealer told me that there is a company in San Diego (where I live) that does that along with the moon roof. They are suposivly the guys who do the moonroofs for Ford. I belive they are called American Sunroof http://www.americansunroof.com/

Again thanks everyone for all the advice and....dammm I can't wait to goto work tommorow and see the faces on my co-workers!

Okay guys,

Here goes, unless goes very wrong, I'm picking up an abondoned '01 KR 4x4 tomorrow. I will be getting it for a song from my local dealer. Been looking at this puppy for over a month and it was only getting looks and lots of dust and crap on the paint. I will probably take delivery tomorrow but not sure if they will have the work I want done by then, we will see and I'll keep you posted. I guess my sig will be changin' real soon, but for now I can wet your appetite as to what it's a wearin'.

Damn, just noticed that someone misspelled tomorrow as "tommorow". Oh well, we know what was meant anyway.

-'01 KR 4x4 chestnut less than 20 miles on it.
-5.4L engine
-3.55 LS axles
-Skid plates
-Power Moon Roof
-Trailer Towing Package (Small 1.02" Radiator too)
-Cargo Cage P/U Box Extender
-Traded in the Wrangler RT/Ss and upgraded to AT/Ss for $225 (RT/Ss are "P" rated and the AT/Ss are "LT" rated)
-The rest is KR history

Daveman-

Finally going to do it eh? Your story is a lot like mine....I was going to order, but didn't want to risk what the rebates might be when the '02 came in. The one on the lot actually had stuff on it i would not have ordered but it all worked out.

Other than the tire upgrade and the bed extender (you're gonna hate this....I have a connection with the guys that supply them to Ford and am getting a freebee later this month), I think we have identical trucks. That is if you go through with it..............

What are you having the dealer do to it...curb feelers?

Daveman,

Good luck on getting the new SCrew! In addition to getting a F150 blanket you should be receiving a KR gift. I got a nice leather portfolio in the same leather as the seats. Here is an URL to it: http://www.krsaddleshop.com/shopping...&productID=967

I got the portfolio and leather condioner art but not the blanket, at least not yet.

Anybody know FOR SURE what drives who gets what. This was asked once before but all we got was a bunch of us telling what we got or what we thought the rules were....and clearly most theories were disproven by a later example. Someone even insisted that x-plan buyers didn't get the goodies....not true.

So, anybody got the REAL STORY?

My congrats too, Daveman. The one thing I have done to my Screw that has made all the difference in the world is upgrading the audio system. It is just plain awesome
