Thumbs up Yakima's new screw rack

Anyone ordered the New Yakima rack that finally fits the super crew. I can get a storage basket or hold your skies and snowboards. I would like to see a pic of one on a screw if anyone has one

I just went to the Yakima site and it seems much of their equipment will mount to the roof, so I'm not sure which basket or mounts you are referring to.

Screwed on Racks

I'm not familiar with a new rack system for the screw from Yakima either; can you elaborate?

I didn't wait- when I got my Screw a year ago I immediately installed Yakima Tracks with PlusNuts on the roof, giving it a base for Yakima towers and bars. I carry a 16' Mad River Canoe and a few bikes around a lot, so I needed a good roof rack topside.

On my previous truck (F-150 supercrew) I'd put Yakima tracks on the truck cap, but it wasn't a great solution because the canoe had to be supported from the back half only, and the canoe would always tip forward and scratch the cab roof while loading. The screw is great, 'cuz the bars on the cab are so centered I can load the canoe and it balances until tied down.

Of course, it took some real guts (or complete loss of mind) to drill all those holes in the roof of a brand-new week-old SuperCrew in order to install the tracks, but with some customization (to shorten the Yakima Tracks) and careful installation, I've been real pleased with the result. Your mileage may vary.
