Gosh - all these new cars yall are replacing.

My Supercrew replaces a 1975 F150 Supercab Ranger (back when Ranger was a full size truck) XLT with an 8' bed. Mileage is either 260,000 or 360,000. I would still be driving it if the rust monster hadn't eaten it.

Get ready for some major history minus tons of details

Walking, then about 15 bicycles, then move up to a moped. I had to soup up the moped, it would go almost 50mph no license req'd.

Started out, first used car in '75 a Ford man (67 Mustang 289) for a very short time bought for $300. I was around 16 I think.
Mopar Man for about 10 years after that:

1. '68 Dodge Dart 318 then 360, then 340) 360 threw a rod, got oil on my Dad's grass, boy was he pissed. I can still picture it in my mind, the old 318 was swinging from the tree in the backyard, parts all over he// and the hood up against the same tree. Cranked up the 360 and I thought, wow, I did it, reved it a couple of times and blam, damn durt in the crank bearings after my first overhaul. I learned my lesson about dirt when rebuilding engines, I was only 17. 340 was kick A$$. Man, the memories!!

2. '72 Duster 340 turned Drag Car, this story would take awhile.
3. Brand new '77 Volare with Road Runner Package 360 auto trans, traded in the '68 Dart.
4. Traded in '77 Road Runner for '79 Dodge Ram Charger 360. Jacked it, huge tires, 411 gears both ends with posi etc...$$$$$
5. Stopped turning wrenches for a living and sold Ram Charger outright at a local dealer to payoff Snap-On pric and walked home.
6. Traded Drag car engine and trans for two wrecked '72 VWs and made one from the two. Went to Tech for 2 year Eng driving bug. Upgraded bug, $$$$$$$$ Cal look lowered spindles etc super paint job Canary Yellow one piece front glass. Must stop.
7. Graduated tech, got married, moved to Columbia, SC went to 4yr Eng school. Drove Cal bug 3yrs.
8. Sold bug outright $$$.
9. Bought '78 Dodge colt at junk yard and drove home $300. Rebuild engine, mags, tires, stereo and more. Drove until graduated '89 and sold for $900.
10. Bought new '89 Chevy 4x4 Silverado 350, long bed, great truck. Truck and I survived Hugo in '89. I still miss that truck as it was my first 4x4 with some serious ***** for doing work. Drove it like he// until '97 and sold it outright for $8900.
11. Got new '97 4x2 short bed with 350 auto Silverado. This truck would move but couldn't haul sh?? due to me lowering rear to get level.
12. Traded '97 chevy in on first Ford 4x4. '99 F-150 XLT ORP 5.4L auto bright red. Had 7 months and with my 2 month old son aboard clipped a red light runner and totaled his girl fiend's Dad's '99 Camry. My Son and I were just shaken and he cried his A$$ off for an hour. Imagine, only being here out for 2 months and getting slammed by some punk who couldn't tell red from green. Long story short, truck needed new frame and tons of other crap if you can imagine. Having a mechanic backgound I new it would never be right again so I arranged with my dealer doing the body work to order my present Truck. With the trade in, and some cash from the punk's girlfreind's Dad's insurance I was able to walk clean and basically drove the '99 for seven months for free. Oh, my Kenwood cranker stereo was ripped out of my '99 while at the Ford store body shop clean as a whistle, not tears just slipped right out. I never suspected one of the body shop guys for a minute though! Dealer bought me a new one per my recolection of what I had. Trust me, I told them excatly what model I had before.
13. Present Truck '00 F-150 Lariat, every option except maybe just one. White with arizona beige, LT 265 17 GoodYears with 3.55 LS, tow package, aluminum tool box and rubber bed mat. Sold the Lariat stereo cd player to a co-worker and installed the super duper cranker Kenwood and matching speakers along with matching Kenwood 12 disc changer in the console. By the way, in case anyone gets this far, I was able to install my cd changer in the console and still use the handy dandy tray that Ford leaves out on their version of the changer installation.

I think I am tired of typing. Love to hear comments! I know this is very long winded but I am sure there are folks out there that can beat this story all to he//.
Happy Motoring

I replaced a 1992 F-150 Supercab Custom at 130,000 almost trouble free miles. Loved that I6-300 but couldn't fit the family in the back anymore.

The SuperCrew is great with the 5.4L because I get about the same gas mileage as the old truck but almost twice the horsepower!

For some reason the kids prefer riding in my SuperCrew over the wife's 2000 Honda Odyssey!

Other vehicles:
1986 Nissan Pickup ($6000 new, and is my nephews first vehicle @ 205,000mi.
1973 Mercury Capri V6 (The Sexy European)
My first car, bought in 1976: 1972 VW Bug for $800 from a junkyard running on 3 cylinders. Sold it in 1981 for $1400.

Daveman,

After reading your reply, I tried to catalog my rides, it will take some time as I must be old and can't remeber the exact order. I'll work on it and get back to you.......lol.... I'm 41 and my first car was a 76 Chevy Vega...........
