sorry

Sorry, but it does not. I just hooked up my amp and a bass tube in my SCrew. I purchased a line out converter and I taped into the left rear speaker wire. Sounds awesome coming from the stock head unit with factory speakers and a bass tube adding that extra needed punch.

Caren, Cajun is right no preamp outputs. Two weekends back I upgraded my system with an amp and new Polk speakers. Was able to pick up the factory speaker wires just before a connector under the kick panel on both sides in the front and for the rear you can come off the factory wires in the beam between the doors. The factory HU sounds fantastic with good speakers and an amp. Going with a four channel amp with give you all the balance and fade control still as well. During this weekend event I also found that there is two additional 5x7 cutouts in the very far back corners of the cab that are not used. I'm currently looking into trying to get a pair of 8"s in this area for a deeper bass response. The bass is the only area that did not come around with the upgrade that I made. I have since seen 10" bass boxes that fit under the rear seat, but I dont think I'm ready to do that yet and lose being able to lower the seat when ever I want.

Question

LocoScrew,

I want to do basically the same thing as you did--keep the stock head unit (premium) and cd changer while adding an amp, new speakers, and subs. Question, did you find a connector for the rear speaker wiring or did you have to cut into the harness? I had my headunit out this evening trying to figure out how I could interface the line output converters to the front and rear speaker outputs without cutting into the wiring.

Thanks.

Check out www.subbox.net they have a box that fits under the rear seat, and you can still fold down the seat. That is what they said today, after I e-mailed them.

TC, no I actually cut into the original wiring for the front and the rear. I soldered and heat shrinked the connections and feel totally confident there is very little lose there. In the front if you choose to do it this way do it on the lines before the connector, it just takes out one more point of resistance. In the back I pulled the wire harness loose at the floor and clipped the wires just before they went into the door and then brought them lower. I did pull entire new wire thru the wire chases for the output from the amp. Also a stereo guy gave me advice saying that better sound would come from keeping the RCAs shorter, so I ran the 16awg wires that I soldered to the convertors and ended up with 1' RCAs from there to the amp. I put the amp under the rear seat and the convertors I puchased have a lip on the bottom and they fit snuggly tucked under the back valance at the floor with the seat up or down. Also nice and easy to get to since they are adjustable.
