Thumbs up New topper for the screw

The last time. If this works great, if not, HELP!

Just got our new topper last month. Love it. It's a Snugtop XTR. ONLY made for screws and nisson frontiers. On the trip home with the new topper, we got 21 MPG. Up from 16 highway. By the way we were also doing around 80 - 85 MPH most of the way. What would we have gotten if we were at 65????

2001 Screw 4X4 XLT
4.6L
Skids
Bright Red
6-disk CD Changer
Sliding Rear Window
9" ac/dc TV/VCR for trips
Westin Nerf Bars
Lund Bug Shield
Spray in Liner
Snugtop XTR Topper

Ordered 6 Dec 00
Born 8 Jan 2001
Got from Dealer 22 Jan 2001

MPG

I'm beginning to conclude that if you cover the bed on a SCrew, you gain alot better mileage. I picked up 1.5 MPG with a hard tonneau around town.

By the way, great looking truck ts_toy!

Someone posted an article about aerodynamics and the number one on the list was a top like that...2)was the hard tonneau cover 3)was the tailgate down 4)tailgate up(lost) 5)tailgate removed(big loss)...

Looks good.....

Question

ts_toy That is a nice looking top. Can you tell me if the bed extender can be used with this top?

I have the Raider Nomad II cap on my screw (looks familiar to yours) and just came back from a 4500 mile holiday. We averaged 19.8 miles/gal. Not bad considering we were cruising at 70+ for most of the trip and on the return trip I was towing a 1500 lbs skidoo trailer. Not sure if the cap made any difference or not as I hadn't gone on any long trips without the cap on the truck. I now have 5500 miles on the truck and the mileage should go up. I'm happy as hell with that!!!

Question New Top Poll

I ordered my new 2002 Screw Today!

I need input on what seems to be the favorite Topper for this Truck.

I have narrowed my choices down to: A.R.E., Leer and Snugtight.

Any input would be appreciated

I don't think ts_toy responded, but the best price I was able to find for this topper was $1500 (painted to match and installed) if anyone can do better, please let me know.

ts_toy or anyone with this type of topper, could you tell me the inside height from bed to inside top and maybe from bedrail to inside top. I think yours looks great, but since I want to sleep in mine, I'm debating getting a high-rise model like ARE's MX, which is 5" taller than their Z series.
Thanks a bunch!

Top Poll

Bugs:

I have a Jeraco top on my truck.

http://www.jeraco.com/.

I don't have a picture of it on my truck but here is one on the site where I bought it from on an extended cab 150

http://www.trucknamerica.com/Jerchfs.jpg

The top was about $800 with another $150 for the roof rack, including installation. It came from the factory painted to match the truck. The top is very good quality. The side windows slide open and have screens (good for camping and when the dogs ride back there) and the window in the front is a slider for easy access from the passenger compartment (if your truck has a sliding rear window).
