More rebates on 2001 Screws

I'm supposed to pick up my '01 Screw tonight and my dealer just called to say that Ford is offering an additional $600 rebate on top of the existing $1000 rebate on left-over '01s, and he is redoing the paperwork to reflect it - cuts almost $30/mo off the [lease] payments.

That takes a little more out of the depreciation sting of the end-of-model-year purchase (actually leasing) and the crappy trade-in value they gave me!

Oops! When I picked up my Screw, I found out that the additional $600 rebate is for A/Z plan buyer/leasers only. Good news if you are an employee or retiree but bad news for retail buyers.

Rebates vary by region

Congrats on the new Screw. I just picked mine up the end of July. I was surprised to find out that the rebates vary by region. I ended up buying a 2001 Screw from a dealer about 3 hours away, but in the same state (NC). When he quoted me the price, he said the truck had a $1000 rebate...I then said that I thought it had a $1500 rebate. He asked for my zip code, and came back a few minutes later and said I was correct...they were offering a $1500 rebate in my zipcode, but only a $1000 rebate in their local zipcode. Good news, is I got the $1500 rebate, because that's where I live, even though I bought in an area that had a lower rebate... Strange, but I'm glad it worked out in my favor.

Good luck with the new truck.

David

I don't know why I get myself into this....but how exactly can a $600 rebate take $30 off your payment? Unless you are finacing like I did for 24 months? Even then it is only $25... or maybe $26 with interest.

BTW....can anybody top my payment....24 months on a Loaded KR Screw 4x4 with only $3000 down...Yeow!!!!.

Wow....I put $11,000 down and still could only afford to finance for 48 months.

24 mo LEASE payments!

Note that that was $30/mo off the payments on a 24-mo LEASE! I wish I could afford the $11K down, let alone paying the balance in 24 months!
