I bought some Monroe Reflex Monotube shocks for my 03 crew about 4 years ago, to replace the OEM Ranchos. Ride and handling improved big time.

The Monotubes are identical in every way to Rancho RSX as far as I can tell. They had a lifetime warranty thru OReilly's and they were very inexpensive (sale + online discount) at the time.

Unfortunately I have replaced 3 of them under warranty. 1 rear leaked, the front 2 were just worn out after 30k. They are just too light-duty for the crew.

Thinking of getting KYB Monomax or maybe going back to stock FX4 spec with Rancho RS5000.

I like KYB shocks, used them for over 20 years.

Reflex also, not Light Truck.

Going back and looking at receipts, I have the Monroe Reflex also, not a Light Truck, part number 911133 up front and 911144 in the rear. I have a 4x4, but am completely stock. I have 10k miles on mine with no issues, ride is good, paid just under $160/shipped from Amazon for all four. I don't do any serious off-roading or beat them up...some towing up to about 4000# and riding around in the back pasture with the kiddo.

Pricing is still the same as of today, $39 and change shipped per unit.

They also list 911520/911521 for as Reflex shocks for performance, they have rubber dust covers instead of metal, other specs look similar, not sure what the difference is. I think they may be a little stiffer than the others.

The only thing I might possibly change is switch out the rears to Monroe Sensa-Trac load adjusting coil overs for the rear P#58629, they are about $100/each though shipped.

I plan to replace my stockers with Rancho RS5000's, just because I can't afford bilsteins at this time and they need to be replaced.

New shocks

I am sure you have replaced your shocks by now ,but I replaced my factory shocks with KYB Monomax and I like them. Its a little stiffer ride than stock with no load, however they do provide a lot better ride and stance when loaded with weight.

Bilsteins all the way. I had them on my 98 F150. I have put them on my parents explore, my Expedition, and my G35. I would put them on my wifes CRV if they offered them. A little bit more expensive, but well worth teh money. The one on my fathers Explorer are at about 100000 miles with no issues, or reduction in operation.
