Thumbs up cargo holder

have anyone come across something on the market to lock
the cargo rack on the Screws, to stop someone from stealing
the rack of the trucks.

Thumbs up Bed Extender Security

Just wanted to share this idea for protecting your bed extender....Install long-shackle, brass, keyed-alike padlocks on each bracket. Here’s how:
Look closely at how the 'spring latch' moves, imagine that when the lock shackle is inserted through and through, the 'spring latch' would be prevented from being depressed, thus releasing the bed extender.

Mark the bracket with a punch and drill a hole through both sides. (I believe I used a 5/16" bit, which was a hair larger than the 1/4" lock shackle)

Install a lock on each side. (Yes, it swings over with the locks installed)

bed extender lock photos

Do a search on the site for bed extenders/security. There are a few different ways to do it. I chose to use a long shackled padlock to prevent someone from depressing the release. A few other people have suggested it in the forums and it works. I've posted photos on the new f150 galleries. Look under the "Albums" for "Bed Extender lock/misc photos" for the photos I posted. I only used it on one side. Don't see the need to do both sides. Keep the keys to the lock in my console. Good luck.

Lightbulb Found someone elses idea...

Here is another idea that does not involve a lock and works (only) when the tailgate is up and locked. I don't know if it would work as I don't have a screw (yet) so just posting to show others.

This page has a LOT of pictures and there really good ones too. I don't know if this is one of our members or not, just found it on Google.

Thumbs up

Hey Dcovell,

Yep ! I'm a member. I didn't know that my sight could be found with a search engine. I just made it to try to help other SuperCrew owners here.

My Bed Extender locking method works great and is easy to do. I now leave the extender in my truck all of the time.
