Looking for some help & advice...
Hey fella's I have a S-crew fx4 and I'd like to lift it..I'm just having trouble deciding how to do it. I only want to run 33's, so a big lift isn't needed...I was thinking maybe 1"-3"!!
Heres what the truck will be used for & the goal I'd like to reach: "I live in the desert & like to go watch the desert races (more, score, mdr)& like to go camping & fishing up in the mountains. I do like to go out & play in the desert sometimes but nothing to serious at all! I don't want to say prerunner but thats basically it..."
I was thinking of a shock upgrade to make offroading a little smoother and maybe they will give me a small boost..Will shocks give me any lift? I'm only looking for a 1"-3" lift & mainly a smoother ride when going fast in the dirt..
I quoted some of the trucks that appeal to me, I'd like to end up no higher than these! So can you guys help me to reach my goal...
I don't intend to hit whoops & jumps at 80mph or anything! But I do like to get out and tear up some dirt roads..and would like a smoother ride while doing it..Just to be clear.
I'm not sure what tire size or lift these trucks are running, but I really like them. Anyone know the rim & tire combo on this truck??
This is a fx2 but its so clean..I think its leveled & 33's...I'd like my fx4 to end up like this, maybe 1-2" higher & have a smoother ride when going fast offroad, but no higher than the truck posted above!

My '02 FX4 was able to fit 285/70/17's (about 32.5" diameter) on it with no lift or torsion bar changes. From all the research i did on the truck before I lifted mine, the smallest "lift" was a 4" kit and everything else was 6" of lift.
So your kind of limited to basically a leveling kit, which I never looked into till i did some looking into it tonight. Their are 2 or 3 companies that offer new torsion keys that say they offer up to 2" of lift, for the rear you'll probably need a new pair of blocks and possibly U-bolts depending on how large of a block you put in.
For shocks, I installed some bilstein 5100's on my truck and absolutely love them!
