Locked Out
Well, it's time for a new mod, actually 2. This weekend I went camping and everything was great until I locked my keys in the truck. What a bad feeling. I grabed a piece of metal, somewhat like a clothes hanger and within 30 secends I was opening the sliding read window. It was too easy. This made me happy, 'cause I had my keys back, but wow anyone could do this. So I want to add a power sliding rear window, or a lock of some kind, and a key pad to the drivers door. Any suggestions, help or info?
Thanks,
Rick

I installed the keypad option on my truck. It was very easy and I would recommend it. It took me less than one hour. I think that I paid around $75.00 dollars for the parts. I have family that works the a dealership. So a search for this mod on the site. I got some good info for this with installation instructions. As for the rear power slider, that is another mod I am going to do in the future. I got prices for around $475.00 installed. Good luck.

Yep, I love my keyless entry feature. Use it all the time, whether I need it or not!
One tip, which I believe I saw posted on here a while back, is to get a plain ol' copy of your key made and do the standard "hide-a-key" trick. It won't start the truck since it doesn't have the security chip built-in, but it will at least open the doors if you lock yourself out... A simple, cheap option for some folks anyway.
