temp disable at airport

Got to leave truck at airport for week. Is there a way to easily disable it to ensure it is still there when I come back?

If I were really that concerned, I'd be parking elsewhere and getting a cab to the airport.

had the idea of installing a keyed switch under the hood. If in the off position, no power could be sent to the starter. Not easy, but cool...

Is it really that bad of an area that you are concerned about someone taking it? I'm sure there will be many other vehicles that they would take before they went for a older pick up truck?

I wouldn't be too worried about it. It will be there when you get back.

Besides, if the right person wants it...he's gonna get it.

Remove the battery.

Or maybe just disconnect it. However, if the thief realized that was the problem, he'd just reconnect it.

All those suggestions are valid, but if you are truly worried about it these measures will only stop it being driven away. Meanwhile you might still have to deal with a broken window, a damaged door, tampered locks, etc. The best thing is to leave a hand written note taped to the inside of the window for the parking police.

"Truck won't start! Vehicle will be removed and all parking fees paid as soon as I get it fixed." Please call Ted at XXX-XXX-XXXX if you have questions."

Take your keys with you....

Seriously, the PATS system already makes is so they cannot hot wire your truck.
The same solution to getting around PATS is the same method any bypass you are looking at doing; i.e. tow truck.
