Mine is June 2000 as well and I do not see the box. I will look again. I miss having Keyless. My Explorer had it and my wife's car has it. I may buy one from www.12voltshop.com if I can not install the factory one and the keypad.

dang that looks like a sweet mod! Definately one I'll have to plan on! One thing though, that link didn't work, anyone have the correct link to the install document? I'm fairly handy with wiring, though I may just have that and a remote start done at the same time by a stereo shop I trust around here.

Mattadams,

Since the great crash, the keypad install thread seems to have vanished. Here's a link to another site that actually has the exact text that used to be on this site including lots of pictures and other semi-relevant info:

Tonk,

I agree 100% with you about Gary @ Fordpartsonline.com, I ordered my parts the other day, he called me yesterday to let me know that the handle is going to be late. He just wanted to let me know and give me a few options with shipping. I wish the local dealers around here were nearly as attentive. I will call Gary first whenever I need parts.

went to the dealer and found out the key pad and the handle are only $98.00. I am sure Gary at fordpartsonline.com is cheap but this is a good price. curt

Thumbs up

Wickman

Thanks for the plug. I finally goit around to doing the mod myself and updated the How To in the process.

If your truck has the wiring for it is is an easy mod that is cheap.

I love it because if you valet you truck or otherwise have to hand your keys to someone - I ALWAYS forget something... This way I can get back in the truck without going to track down the valet or the service guy.

Under the dash on the drivers left is a white box with a big 5 digit code on it. Thta's your code. The manual tells you how to program your own number.
Here's mine

Tonka01,
To lock the doors using the keypad push the 7/8 and the 9/0 buttons at the same time.

Another handy feature is after you enter your code to unlock the drivers door push the 3/4 button within the next few seconds to unlock all doors.

Got my handle last night UPS keypad in and operating great.......pretty easy mod....thanks for all the help and give fordpartsonline.com/Gary Starr your OEM parts bus. when you can.........he treated me great. I put a line of silicon on top and bottom between the handle and the pad.

Gen 1 keypad installation

I just finished my keypad installation, my truck was built June 00 and everything was there, easy project with the tips on this board. I would suggest buying a Craftsman 1/4 inch square drive extension handle, #43393. It's ten bucks and gives you a "screwdriver hancle with a 1/4 ratchet sqare drive socket on the top of the handle. You will need 6 and 7 mm sockets and a screwdriver, that's it. I did not silicon my keypad, is that a Ford reccomendation??

Old door handles

Has anybody found anyone who wants all of our old door handles? I checked eBay, nothing showing up there. These have to be worth something to somebody....
