Like the lid. I think I've decided on a Silver Screw myself. 4x4 ofcourse, now just trying to decide if I want XLT or Lariat. Anyway I got a question for you guys with rear entertainment Are they worth it? I got 3 kids ages 4yr, 2yr, and 7mo. And it would sure be nice to keep them quiet for several yrs on trips. Can you see the screen all that well? I'm sure im gettin 60/40 so was wandering about my laptop on the fold down console and DVD vs. the rear ent. system</font>
Attitude,
I have the REAR ENT SYS in my SCrew XLT. I originally didn't want it but I couldn't find my SCrew configured the way I wanted without it. I was going to order my SCrew but didn't want to jeopardize not getting the 5.9 finacing from Ford. So after some simple math, I decided to go ahead and get the Screw with the RES since it was exactly what I wanted. Since I was using X-PLAN, the additional savings on the purchase more than paid for the system. As it turns out, the kids absolutely LOVE it and since I have a 30' Wilderness travel trailer I have no doubt it will get used. Even now, if we are going to be in the SCrew longer than 5 minutes the kids bring a movie to watch! The quality is outstanding and there are no problems viewing in daylight. It has easy to use controls with a remote and is intergrtated nicely into the stereo system. If you like, I can take some picts and shoot them your way! Good Luck!

Cool

Call snugtop today. I was told that they no longer sell thier product on the east coast due to a planet closing. Does anyone know if this us true? Anyway, the only way I can get ahold of a snuglid is to order thur a place called American (310)549-1003. Has anyone delt with these folks before? How much did you pay for your snug lid?

thanks n6van,
I would appreciate some pics. I will be buying on D-plan (Dealer employee) I am really stumped, I want the moonroof bad, but would rather have something for the kids to keep occupied with. That's why I'm askin all the questions, I think there is a way to possibly have both!! Maybe a moonroof and aftermarket tv screen. Or even a new laptop with DVD on the center console. Damn I hate all these decisions LOL!! Better get what I want cause I'll have to keep this one for awhile, But I think I'll want to!!

Before you order your Sunglid, make sure you call around. I found that prices vary as much as $150 between dealers.

Ordered mine last week and paid $850 w/tax for the lid, clamp on and liner. Was told 3 weeks for delivery. Not a great deal but thought is was ok.

I agree with Coop!

Shop around. I paid $639 for mine. It's not clamp on and no head liner. With those options mine would have been around the same as Coops. I actually like the looks of the "bolt on" system vs. the clamp-on. The lid can still be removed very easily. The dealer where I bought mine suggested I save about $30 and buy the lid without the liner and that they could install it later if I wanted and that the install quality would actualkly be better than from the factory. Just be sure to check all of your options.

Question

Hey guys.

I just got my truck a week ago and have been living on this site for just as long. My wife and kids have forgotten what the front of my head looks like! Anyway, I've been reading all the posts and I am thankful for all the info, but I still have a question. Just how easily can the Snuglid be removed? And which setup is the easiest(clamp or bolt)? I've got about a month before I'll be ready purchase so the more info the better. I am not set on the Snuglid though. If you have any other opinions on solid covers that are easily removed and can be painted to match, let me know.

Joker...
Pull 2 pins and disconnect the gas struts and it's ready to come off which takes all of 2-3 minutes. You will need someone to help and a secure place to stow the lid. It all depends on the look you want and the functionality of the lid. GOOD LUCK!!!
