19 MPG from Supercrew!!!!!!!
Just got back from Colorado, round trip from Austin and I averaged about 20mpg the whole way, even through the mountians. Also, my best MPG was 23.5, not to bad for CO fuel at 85 octane. But that was on the way back to Austin which is mostly downhill. BTW, no Tonneau cover.
I got 17.78 mpg going to WV. I filled on my way back at Cumberland,MD. About 150 miles Interstate (cruise set to 74 @ 2050 rpm) and 110 miles of "rural highway" (US Route 50 with 9% grades and 15 mph turns). All on 16 inch wheels. I can now see how I might get 19 on open Interstate.
I took my screw over Memorial Day weekend to Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Virginia. Prior to this trip,I have gotten 14 and change MPG locally driving. On this trip, with my wife, two kids and luggage, I was able to get 18.8 MPG on I-95 hitting some traffic on the Jersey Turnpike and the Belt parkway in NYC. Not bad at all! Although not as good as the Civic I replaced by the Screw!

In a stock truck, you will get better gas milage with 87 octane. The higher the elevation, the less octane you need. After reading some of these post, I'm switching from ethanol to straight 87 octane.

About the AC...do we all have the same owners manual instructions?? Some settings get activated if the outside temp is above 50 degrees. I should have gotten the manual out before responding, and quoted the manual, but it's late and I'm tired....but I finally figured my AC out........its more complex than would have expected, almost too much to remember...
O.K. Folks. I just completed a weeklong trip to the Lake Region of Maine (30-40 miles west of Portland). On my return trip I fueled up in CT. I got 20.67 mpg. on my trip, I got 16.06, 19.15, 17.71, 18.49 and 20.67 mpg. The best mileages were on I-95 through ME, CT and MA. After getting 13-14 around Baltimore, I never would have believed it, and with 16 inch wheels (to boot)!
Let me just say this one thing. California's gas sucks big time. They put that extra crap in it to reduce polution but it takes more fuel to get the same distance so what I want to know is if we are really putting more crap in the air, just a diffrent kind...
Our gas is also some of the most expensive in the country. I guess you have to pay to live in California. Our electricity isn't too hot either.

VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH GAS MILEAGE
Just did a Arizona to California trip last weekend.
Driving 75MPH in AZ and no higher then 80 in CA
I averaged 15.7, heck I get that in town.
I was expecting AT LEAST 18 MPG. I have a snuglid
over the bed, Gibson Duals, Air Aid intake, all to no avail.
A/C was on all the way to and from.

Mine is a 2001 4X4 with the 4.6 and just over 10k on the odometer.
Back and forth to work (about 7 miles), I get around 12 MPG - half highway, half residential.
Out on the open road, however, it's a whole 'nuther story. I've taken several trips where I was able to set the cruise @ 75 MPH and have averaged between 22-23 MPG.

Nope.
P255/70R16's.
I do have an A.R.E. "Z" series cap though.
Actually, the reason for my mileage was staying off the brake and accelerator. I've found that the longer you can drive using the cruise control without braking or accelerating the better your mileage will be. It's gotten to the point where I turn on the CC as soon as I start rolling and use the buttons on the wheel to adjust for the various speed limits.
Works for me.
