Cool power rear window

I see a lot of posts here from SC owners with sliding rear windows.

I have one also but mine is the POWER sliding rear window from the Ford catalog. With the sunroof and that window open - WOW she cools down quickly.

Nice thing is its a dealer option and is residualized in the lease.

Some details (costs, pics, mfg. etc) for this little goody would be appreciated. You have to be very "limber" to open the rear window from the drivers seat. A power option would make the window much more useful.

Thanks!

I have the rear power window on my 01 SC Harley Davidson. It really is a nice feature to have. Using it with the sunroof really cools things off. I think it was $499.00

Go to your deler and get the Ford turck accessory catalog. My recollection is it was written into the lease at about $600. $475 for the window and the rest was labor. Its made by CR Lawrence (I think).

dufunne,
What is the part # on fordpartsnetwork.com? How long did it take you to install? Are installation instruction included?

guardrail or Big Black HarleyF150:
How does the power window work ?
Straight drive from motor, linkage arms, cable ?
Where is the motor located ?
Does it take up any rear head / shoulder space or storage space ?
Does the factory trim (inside and outside) get reinstalled or is there new trim ?
Sorry for all the questions but my dealer parts counter is not much help.
Thanks.

Question

it uses a power unit that pushes a cable thru a jacket cable to move the windows linerally.

The motor unit is mounted behind trim panel behind the seats and the switch is mounted up by the steering column.

It would be a handful for a non-mechanical type to install. Lots of dismanteling - my dealer actually brought in their glass folks to insert the window.

Thanks guardrail,
any more info out there ?
The power slider is an add on that i would like to install and I'm weighing all the pro's and con's, like having to take the
ARE lid off to do the install.

Does this window slide up and down so that the whole thing is open, or does just the center piece slide back and forth?
I want to put a shell on and be able to crawl through the window.
TIA

Angry

center section slides horizontally.

You dachsund might go thru but no one I know is small enough. It's not like the Sportrac rear window.

It is cheaper at www.oemfordparts.com . I lied, that's where I got it from. The part number is F75Z-15422B30-AA, it lists for $425, and I got it for $361.25.

mine was actually half price.

Window was $400, install was $100 by dealer, but I leased and the residual was 53%.

What's your take on the Gibson, Ypipe and FIPK.

I've cut off the filter housing on my intake, added a K&N - note sure what gain I'd get but have been thinking about an exhaust.
