I haven't gotten a consistent read on my gain yet, but I love the sound and I can hear that I am getting a lot more air flow in the system with the FIPK. I can't imagine I am not getting better performance, especially after seeing the factory y-pipe junction. I have before and after pictures of the y-pipe as well as my exhaust tips in my gallery, and will soon have pictures of all my mods up (as soon as I get the digital camera out again).

who did you have the Y pipe change done by? Did you buy a second set of factory tubing and swap, or remove and modify the installed tubes.

Lokks like about an hours worth of work but finding a muffler guy that can weld is tough any more.

I notice a definite difference with just the air filer housing cut off and the K&N.

Is the Gibson that much noisier?

Got the y-pipe install done at Tuffy Auto Service. Most of the recommendations on this board have said a small muffler shop, not Midas or another big one. Of course I have nothing else to compare the Gibson to besides my stock muffler, but it is noticeably louder than stock. Of course, the stock muffler is huge, so nothing is getting through it. From what I read here, the Gibson's are not really that loud. This one is just right, but it is obvious. I just had them remove the entire assembly and replace the pipes up to the cats. That way I can fairly easily reinstall the stock system if needed in the future. Of course, that makes it hard to store my stock one. I just hung it on the ceiling in the garage, because I had nowhere else to put it.

did you get the single 3" Gibson system or the duals?

I've been looking at the single 3" because Gibson website says its best for towning.

I got the supertruck because of the overall performance with both towing and without. I think it looks very nice as well.

power rear slider

You can purchase a CR Laurence brand slider from Earl Owen Co. 1-800-527-2006 for approx. $300.00 plus UPS. PN/EPC990S.

Does the CR Laurence power sliding rear window have the dash switch that sits right next to the power adjustable pedals and looks like the one in the manual?

If not what brand has this?

power slider

Hey guys help me out. I called the dealership with the part numbers for the manual and the power slider. The manual was $989.00 and the power was $425.00. They also told me the power slider came as a kit and you needed the manual slider and the power slider kit. So does anyone else have any success with their dealership getting any ACCURATE information. The part number for the manual is XL3Z-15422B30-CA and for the power slider it is F75Z-15422B30-AA. Any help is appreciated because I was about to give up and just have the manual done next week. The dealership OWES me one because I wanted it installed when I bought the truck but they didn't have it in stock. So now I'm trying to convince them to just upgrade it to a power slider instead.

I posted the actual part numbers earlier in this thread, but I got mine considerable less than that. Check with www.oemfordparts.com for the lowest price. That's where I ended up getting mine, and I shopped around for the lowest price possible. The power slider came with everything necessary for installation. I am not sure about upgrading from no slider at all, but the only thing that doesn't come with the power slider package is the molding that surrounds the actual glass. This piece is the same for both the power and manual sliders, but I don't know about the non-slider. You may have to get the molding as well. I was impressed with the power slider. I originally got sent the manual slider by mistake, and that just had the window in it. No sealant, instructions or anything. The power slider, however, when I got it (by the way it was only $7 more at www.oemfordparts.com) it had everything needed for installation: sealer, instructions, wiring, etc. I had the old one out and the new one in and fully installed with the switch in the dash next to my power pedals in 2 hours, and I am **** when it comes to perfection on the installation in my truck. I was very happy with the power package.

Dufunnel, I am in Orlando. I need a good recommendation for a shop to install a Gibson...weld on. Were you happy with Tuffy Auto Service? And where the heck are they? I'm in S. Orlando Hunters Creek area. Email or post appreciated.

Thanks...

I live on the East side by UCF, and I went to the one over here. I know they have several in town, but from reading the recommendations on this site I would go to a smaller muffler place or an independent place. Tuffy did a great job, but any small shop can do it if you tell them what you want and take them the parts (most likely they won't have them).
