Thumbs down Lariat Stripe

Is it just me, or is the stripe alongside the Lariat S'Crew with the script "Lariat" tacky. I haven't taken delivery of my vehicle yet, but I'm seriously considering having it removed. Has anyone else done this?

I agree! They can be taken off fairly easily though. They just pull off. Some citrus cleaner and a heat gun (or hair dryer) help in the process too. So if you want them off, don't sweat it! They come off!!!

SCrew that!! (no pun intended) I had the dealer take it off (along with the little dealer sticker on the tailgate) before I took it home. As much as you are paying for this truck, I think they could handle pulling a little pinstripe off.

Grumps...

The first thing I did when I brought mine home from the dealer was peeled the stripes and Lariat logo off. My SCrew is black in color and it looks much better without this deco. It does come right off with no problem. After removing, I wiped it down with some McGuiar's clear coat cleaner to take off the leftover residue build-up that was along the edge of the striping.
I also replaced the license plate frames painted over the hitch receiver insert that had the dealer's name on it. I despise 4-wheel billboards.

Question

Has anyone removed the stripe covering a two-tone paint seam? If so, is the seam line neat and straight, or is it as ragged as the original stripe?

Grumps,
I agree with you about the stripe and script looking tacky.I took mine off. I got a hair dryer and heated up one end. After I got it started, I kept the hair dryer on it and it peeled off very easily. When I was finished there was not any sticky stuff left on the truck. It's hard to tell what it will look like before you do it, but if you decide to, I think you will be pleased. It makes the truck look muck cleaner.

mjshaw, the line is straight. At least, as straight as it can be. They paint all the two tones as if no pinstriping was going on.

Thumbs up

I had the dealer remove the funky Lariat striping as they cleaned the truck for delivery. What really twists my nads is the fact that they cut the striping 1/8 to 1/4 inch before the end of panel, that's tacky.

But as you can see, I took care of all factory striping and two-tone color.

I wish you were rite Raoul. I took my stripes off yesterday (long overdue) only to find out my factory 2 tone paint line is WAY off. So much so that i noticed the factory stripe had a had time covering it with its 1'' width. I am gonna head out to the dealer today and see if we can come to some sort of resolution.
