Dscrew - Could you tell me where you got the Advanced Cover installed for $269. I posted this question in another topic but I guess you never saw it. Anyway could you let me know, I would like to get it for that price that you said. Here in Houston it is $500.

The tv also has dome lights built into it, works just like before. Except you dont have the individual map lights.. The kid loves it.

I put a jensen flip down 6.8" tv, it has a built in tv tuner, dome lights and speakers. I also hooked a fm modulator so the sound runs thru the four truck speakers, plus I put a 4" tv in the passenger sunvisor. All run to a DVD I put under the passenger seat, works and looks great, plus it keeps the kids busy. Best part was I saved alot by doing all the work myself.

Gee, it's bad enough we have all the distracted drivers with cell phones.... now they're gonna be watching TV to boot! I'm glad I'm getting an S'Crew.... at least I may survive the impact from a crash.

I too wanted the drop down TV for my kid to watch in the back, but I didn't want the console as I want to be able to seat six from time to time (football tailgate parties). 4Door's ideas are intriguing.... and I could wire such a set up... but I don't need the distraction. What I finally chose was simple; a portable DVD player. It plugs into the rear power plug and my boy can watch in the back seat with headphones or even listen to homemade CD's. That leaves me free to crank up the custom sound system I've got ready to install without my boy complaining about my tunes..... now if I can only do something about the Mrs.....

Dscrew, My vcr is just sitting under the back seat. If it was mounted permanently you could not fold the seats down. So I left plenty of wiring so I can move it forward if moving the seat.
Mine will play either through the stereo OR through wireless headphones. Give the kid the headphones and I can still listen to the stereo. I also left jacks available for a dvd player or the playstation. My laptop has a dvd player with output jacks if dvd's are wanted. Its a pretty cool toy. Wife was wanting to go somewhere the other day while I was watching the golf tournament on tv, so I just let her drive while me and the boy sat in back and watched the playoff.. pretty sweet.. Didnt figure I needed a monitor up front like 4door. If she wants to watch tv she can get in back with the kiddo. Now all I gotta do is figure out where to mount the satalite dish!!

Thumbs down

Some members have suggested Audiovox but I have to warn you in advance that Audiovox flip-downs have a data ribbon which gets wrinkled and damaged after several uses. I have an Audiovox flip down but I hardly use it. Being in the business affords me the opportunity to do the repairs on these units.

Also the Vcr can be mounted underneath the seat and still have the capability to fold the seat down.
