Angry damn this AIR FORCE ONE!!!!

ok, when i first got the fipk, installed it and it would slip off ALL The time... so I removed the filter and the end of the tube, took them in and thoroughly cleansed them using dish soap to remove all the greasy film. put them on and all seemed well... noticed today the filter had slipped off YET AGAIN. this really pisses me off. I feel like I followed the (rather crappy) instructions and am wondering if there is some defect in the part or something... any ideas would be greatly welcomed...

thanks,
Wes

Ummm yeah...take it off.

No...all kidding aside, maybe you have a defective one, call the makers of the Air Forsce 1 and explain your situation. Maybe they'll send you a replacement.

Hey pesos,

I had the same problem with my Air Force One. The damned filter kept popping off the Venturi Generator, or VG (the part with the square flange and 4 bolts at the corners). So, I understand your frustration.

I solved the problem by simply re-positioning the clamp. I originally had the clamp positioned as shown in the instructions. In other words, the clamp was pushed fairly far along the filter base (the rubber tube) so that it was right over the ridges molded into the end of the VG tube when fully assembled. After the filter popped off a few times, I tried sliding the clamp so that it's positioned near the end of the filter base, and nearly pushed up against the 4-bolt flange of the VG. In this position, the filter has never popped off. Try it out.

Hope this helps,

Cool

Pesos,

No problemo.. By the way, the company that makes the Air Force One is SUV Specialties, www.suvspecialties.com. I contacted them about a different problem and they were extremely helpful and responsive. If you continue to have problems, I'm sure they'll help you out.
