Question Should I wait and order 2002 Screw

When will dealers be taking orders for the 2002 Screw and Ford stop producing the 2001's? Is it better to wait for the 2002 version? I heard there wasn't going to be too many changes, but what if I don't like the look of the 2002's? I am either going to order a 2001 within the next 2 weeks or else say screw it and wait.

Has anyone heard on this or had past experience with new year models? When do they start building next year's model. I went to a dealer acouple of weeks ago and they already had the 2002 Explorers on the lot.

I'd say no. I thought I read that the next real upgrade on the F-150 won't happen until 2003 model.

02' screws should go into production in july. doubt there will be any significant changes. about the only thing i've heard is that there may be some differences in the steering equipment. something about a change similar to what is being installed on the blackwood. changes supposedly provide better steering feel and accuracy.

Ford usually shuts down its production lines in the first week of July and stars up the new model year around 3rd week in Aug.
With all the new models and these 2002 models out now (Explorer), things may have changed.
I read an article several months ago, that Ford was trying to get the new 3 valve 5.4L(300HP) out in the F series by Fall of this year, but knowing Ford, it probably won't happen till Spring or 2003.

ford would never have their plants down for more than a month except for a major model changeover. usually the plants are only down for about two weeks before they start cranking out next years vehicles.

what 3 valve engine are u talking about? there is a 32v (4 valve per cylinder) 5.4l engine used in the navigator. is that what you are talking about?
