Post Exchanging Ford Mudflaps for Ford Bugshield; pics and opinions needed

I got the rear molded mudflaps, but I don't like how they will fit, because there will be a gap on the outside because of where the lower paint protector strip is. I think this gap will fill with stuff and be a pain, and just not look right.

Point being, I'm thinking of exchanging them for a Bugshield. For those of you with the Ford Bugshield, do you like it enough to recommend it? Do you have any installed pics of on your Screw? I've seen it in person but not on a Screw.

Opinions about my mudflap issue also taken.

If it weren't for trucks, we wouldn't have tailgates.

Go,
I had the same problems with the mud flaps. My dealer ended up using the flaps for the stepside instead of what the book said. He had to do a little cutting on the mudflaps, but it was cut in a place for mounting purposes only. It did not effect looks. The problem with the mudflaps listed for the screw is that they are made for the Lariat with the wheel well trim, the XLT does not have any trim.

The XLT does have wheel well trim on the 4x4.
My factory ford mud flap's fit great.Did your dealer order for 2x4 without the trim?
I sure would think they would make them.

I ordered the Ford molded mud flaps and the bug deflector. I put the deflector on and I love it. It has a nice tight profile, and room behind it to clean and wax the hood.

I haven't put the flaps on yet, but did test them and they fit/look really good. Maybe you got the wrong ones. There was a post before about the part numbers for w/ and w/o the fender flares or factory cab steps.

Good luck!

Watch that ford bug deflector, when you close the hood make sure you have clearance between the defector and the painted part under it or it will rub some paint off.
