Post Anyone hear this one? Help!

I took my Crew in this morning for a front_end alignment and some tranny noise. The service writer said that they could get the alignment done but that the tranny "guy" was booked for a week. He could look at it but that was about it.

That was this morning. Tonight I go to pick it up and one of the noises I described was coming from the top of the tranny coming in contact with a floor pan support. On hard accelleration the Crew is twisting so bad that the tranny is banging up against the bottom of the cab. Blam! Blam! Blam!

Has anyone heard this before? There remedy was to basically take the driveline apart looking for a part that was out of place. Does this sound right?

Anyone's insight would be appreciated. I left my baby at the dealership tonight and now am driving a Focus! Argh

I remember someone posting that a mounting bolt was left off of the tranny and allowed it to move and make some noise. Keep us posted when they fix it.

Good news - bad news! Good news is they fixed the tranny pounding the floorboard on hard acceleration. Bad news is they used a five pound sledge hammer to do it! Service ticked says "reformed floor pan support."

They did realign the front-end but did not really address the thunk. I took the service writer on another ride but since the pregnant wife (due date next week) was waiting I couldn't really spend to much time with him. I was able to duplicate the sound but not as loud as it usually is. The service writer starting going to the "normal" explanation and I just left it at that. I told him I would bring it back so we could have the service manager ride with us.

The saga continues...

Thumbs down

alignment on mine sucked from the first day also. My steering wheel is not straight when the truck is going straight! I am going to take it in for an alignment and hope they cover it. Other than that I love the truck.

Took my superduty work truck in for service. I am also driving a focus.. baby blue wagon. On my way home 4 transports blocked me in and were pointing and laughing at me. (Seriously they did until an explorer was totalled in front of us, then trafic was at a standstill). Anyways, my alignment from the factory sucked too I took it in and mentioned the tranny thunk, mine is not too bad but the said that it was normal. Now they call and want me to drive 2 hrs back to go for a ride with me to "determine the problem". They have had more complaints from S. Crew owners. I dunno about you but they got one chance to fix and didn't so I think I may be taking it to my local clowns... err.. dealer to have them look at it.
