Unhappy My Screw is in the shop...

Well, I got mine back in July. It has not been to the dealer since I drove it off the lot! A friend had noticed a growl from the right front tire while riding with me, and I noticed the brakes were getting noisy. I had also become aware of the radiator issue, and my bedliner is one of the short ones that is bowing away from the sides. So, 12,417 miles later, I took her in to the shop.

Turned out it had a bad bearing & hub, and God knows what else wrong with the brakes, and the service guy acknowledged the radiator issue and agreed to replace it with a 1.47" "Y" model. However, they balked at replacing the bedliner, saying that was a sales issue. I plan to wrangle a dealer discount for a line-x job, since I don't want the liner anyway (it was already in the truck when I bought it, and they did not want to take it out, so I got it for free). Two out of three ain't bad, but I'm a little disconcerted about the bearing, since this is a 4x4. I was glad they did not put up a fight about the radiator - they said others had complained and they were swapping them out. But I have to wait until Mon or Tues for my truck since the parts did not come in. Grrrrr.....

Unhappy

See you're a GA. boy, too. Yeah mine has been in the shop (Akins) since Tuesday. My front passenger window had a knocking sound in it when you rolled it down, the rubber flap under the front of the truck had come loose, they are checking into the radiator issue, and I had a few bad spots in the paint on the roof. No idea when I am getting it back!!! At least they gave me a loaner for free while I wait (it's not a truck, though).

RamblinWreck, don't let them screw you on the bedliner. There is some serious design flaw with these Duraliner bedliners for the Screws. I am on my second one already, and now since the warm sun has been beating on it, this one is bowing out again and i've only had my truck a month! My dealer has been very good about it, and i laready informed them that about this one. I'm taking it aout and getting a Line-x...enough with this crap already.

Cool

Thanks for the tip Scooby, when I get my truck back I'll take it over to that Midas for my Ravin mod - I work at SA at 316 & Sugarloaf so that is very convenient.

Us Hot'lanta area screwers need to get together for a group pic to post.

RE: the bedliner - the Screw Duraliners blow. I am pulling mine out and getting Line-X job. I just have to make Ford buy my liner back to help defray the cost, and remove it for me for free.

Got my SCrew back today. Rides smooth on the new hub and the brakes are tight 'n quiet. When I got home, I popped the hood, removed the plastic top shroud, and checked out my new fat "YL3H-GA" radiator! (Plus new coolant and I had 12k on mine nyuk, nyuk, nyuk). (I decided to wait 'n see that everything else was taken care of before I get ugly about the bedliner. Will do on Monday)

While I was at it, I did the cold airbox mod and prepped for the WMS tube which is on the way from Calgary, eh?.

Cool

Go do a search for "air intake" in the Engines forum. Look for posts on airbox mods. Basically, I am opening up the intake upstream of the filter box where it goes into the fender. It's easy and cheap, and works. I am also removing the stock air intake and replacing with a WMS velocity tube which is just a mandrel bent pipe. Does the same as an FIPK, only is much cheaper and the engine gets cold air. You can also mod the stock intake:
