Post xplan and dealer holdback

Anybody aware of what Ford gives the dealer to do an xplan, I'm ready to purchase and got a quote of $160 under inv using the xplan. I've heard $250 is what ford gives the dealer, and its not part of any holdback. I figure if the dealer is only making $250 on the deal then if they sell me the screw for even less then inv and not under the xplan then they more make a few more bucks. I now there's other perks to be concerned about, I found a dealer who provides free oil changes every 3750 miles while its under warranty. Family Ford, Waterbury, CT.

Not sure what you'r going for but the "X" Plan isn't a wonder plan. "A" Plan is great in most cases and "X" Plan is about 4% higher than "A" Plan. Your best bet is to shop the exact truck you're looking for to see if anyone will drop their drawers better than the "X" Plan. They just might. If not, enjoy a haggle free good deal on a truck in time of soft sales and hot factory incentives.

The Dealer makes an additional 3-4% off the stated invoice----Any money "lost" when the dealer sells below invoice is refunded by Ford. Don't let the dealer make you think they are ever losing money!!!
My truck stickered for 31,800 and I paid $26,500 using the X-Plan---This is quite a savings!!!!

I purchased my SCrew using "X" Plan and it was by far the best deal I was able to get. You might get a dealer to go less than "X" on other models but highly unlikely with the SCrew! The dealer I worked with had to get the truck from another dealer and was still determined to get the deal even though "X" Plan was used so I would have to think they get a few bucks out of it.

A-plan is true dealer cost
X-plan is 4% over a-plan
Invoice is 200-400 over x-plan from what I can determine.
Holdback is 3%
So you if buy a truck at x-plan, then the dealer is making 7%. If he is not having to pay floor plan, in today's market situation, thats not a bad profit. Let's say a truck for 26,500 times 7% is $1855. All he had to do for it was trade with another dealer to get the truck. For a couple hours paperwork. I don't know about you, but I don't make 900.00 per hour.

Good luck with the new truck.
