Question Biggest tire on a 4x4 Supercrew???

Anyone know what the largest tire is I can put on a stock 4x4 Supercrew (I believe the rims are stock 16x8's)? Currently, I have 255/70R16 tires on it and want to go a few steps larger with a little rougher tread, but as I'm a novice in the world of 4by's I have no idea how to approach this. The stock tires look like they have a lot of clearance inside the wheel well and it would be my guess (just by eyeballing it) that I could go at *least* to 285's. Anyone have an idea or pics?

I have the 4x4 XLT Supercrew and I put BFG 285/75/16 on my stock rims. Fits nice with plenty of room, no problems turning sharp at all. Wheel well speaking you can even go 305? not sure of 315, but not sure if these two would fit stock rim which I dont think is 16x8. No pics here yet, still working on it but many around here.

Yes,
The minimum approved rim width for the 285 is 7.5".
For the 305 it is 8".

Thumbs up

I believe the stock rims are 7" or 7.5", not 8".
I have 16x8 Eagle rims with 305/70R16 Cooper A/T's and it fits fine, although if you chose a deeper dish wheel it might rub when turning. 305/70 is the same height as the 285/75's, but the 305's are wider. The Cooper A/T's aren't as aggressive as the BFG's, but unfortunately BFG doesn't have a 305!

Hmm...so you're saying that the 285/75's would fit better on the stock screw 4x4 rims?
