Moon Roof Wind Noise/Deflector
Ray, never heard of the deflector. I wouldn't own a vehicle without a moonroof. When it's open it's like having a window rolled down as far as noise is concerned. I had mine open today and it was 45 F. out. There is very little air turbulence, mostly @ the rear corners which is controlled by closing it just a little. The light that is let in is the major factor. It opens up the entire cabin. Think of your bathroom without a window and you'll understand.

Hey skyjet,
I checked out your site, think you could add a few more details?
Just kiddin', damn you went to a lot of effort to document all that stuff, great job. BTW, why did you spend the time to do such a detailed documentation anyway, just for the fellow F-150 owners? You sure have a generous heart!
Thanks for the extra effort, I may use some of that stuff on my '01 KR screw.
As for the moonroof question, don't have one yet so can't comment.

I haven't noticed any Problems with wind noise.
I did have some snow dumped on the ol'noggin
showing off the moonroof.
Yes.. my first drive was in the snow !!

P.S. If you drive fast enough, you won't worry about the noise !!

Sky jets link is dead so here is what worked for me
I found a way to fix the standard sun roof on my 2000 Expediton Eddie Bauer roof from the loud buffeting noise.
It will take you no more than 10 to 15 minutes, and you just need a screwdriver
Open the roof, stand on your seats, look at the spring loaded wind deflector that pops up in front of the sunroof, Unscrew the two respective phillips heads screws at the front opening that attach straps to the pop up deflector (the straps keep the deflector from popping further up).
With the two straps detached, flip the deflector all the way up and over so that is is facing the rear of the sun roof. It will now slide out of its hinges and remove it
If you lay it on the ground you will see its pretty straight, You need to get a slight bend in that deflector, so that it will arch higher than the roof line when open. I took mind and slight bent it around my stomach till I got a slight arch
Reverse the procedure to reattach.
Hopefully you tested it at 60 miles per hour before you did it, and if you arched it right, with the moon roof open the buffeting noise should be gone!
Shame on Ford for letting this problem go for 8 years and not making this simple fix common knowledge.

After more than 7 years, I'm not surprised!
Good tip, but on my 2005, I don't really have much noise associated with the moon roof. If I do, I'll just crack the rear sliding glass and it solves any issues.
