Protect your garage for less than $3
I picked up my new Screw last weekend and knew it would be a tight fit in my garage. Well, it just barely fit... whew! Today I decided to add a nice brush guard and fog lamps off the front bumper so my truck suddenly grew another few inches longer....
Ok, it still fits IF you have someone guide you into the garage and signal when to stop (otherwise my cool truck would wind up in the dining room). Well, I went to the local Walmart to grab a couple of cheap wheel chocks. I wasn't excited about that option since I knew they would never stay in same place on the garage floor. While passing through the toy section I noticed those long tubular foam pool toys so popular with kids today. I purchased two of them at $1.44 each. They are about 2.5" diameter, about 5 feet long and are VERY sturdy, hard to cut or tear. I mounted them horizontally on the gararge wall to meet the grill guard at it's most forward points. I used 4" drywall screws with #10 washers to secure them to the wall studs. Now I can simply drive into the garage and creep forward until my truck makes contact with those foam tubes.... it works GREAT. I tried it several times and the foam shows no sign of wear and the grill guard is protected too.

You want another even cheaper solution???
Buy a little fish bobber, find an old piece of twine, string, fishing line, etc...
get the truck parked perfectly in the garage. just like you would always want it to be. Use a thumb tack to put one end of the string on the ceiling and attach the bobber to the other end and let it dangle until it JUST touches the windshield. You're set. You can gauge if you are too far to the right or left just by remembering where the bobber lines up on the window, and you very rarely mispark the truck!
Cheaper, easier and just as effective as the foam on the wall! My Aunt and Uncle has used this for years, and they have never failed or fallen apart. They only have to be moved if you get a new vehicle, or if the kids pull them down!

You could also hang a tennis ball instead of a bobber, easier on the windshield since it will be resting against it unless you back off it a little.

I have a cool little laser that has a motion sensor in it, shines down onto a spot on your dash.. 9.99 at target. Ok, its a high tech tennis ball, but its cool.
also drives the dog crazy trying to figure out what the red dot on the garage floor is from.
