I personally don't see how anyone could steal this truck with the anti-theft system that comes standard from Ford, unless they have your key or carjack you. I'm sure that there are better systems in the aftermarket but don't overlook the one you all ready have. Good luck.

Thanks ScrewDriver2001 for POV. I think it can be stolen, but it would have to be a real pro.

Texasblue-

I personally rely on a Clifford system. I try to keep up with most of the advances in the car audio and security industry. Based on personal experiences, the Clifford is one of the most reliable systems that there is. Alpine, DEI (maker of the Viper, Python, etc.. and new owner of Clifford), Avital (Clifford's Entry Level Alarm), Ungo, and Clarion all make good systems. I chose the Clifford Solaris because of their exceptional performance and value (about $500 installed with remote start). Also it is one of the few alarms that comes standard out of the box with a different alarm tone. It's not a generic 6-tone siren like most others, which the public tends to ignore anyway. Also, if you have the alarm added, have them mount the alarm under the covers in the front of the truck. You can't be any where near the front of my truck when I set the alarm, you'll nearly go deaf!

Cool

hey ya'll,

I tend to agree about alarms not being affective and mostly useless....how many times do we hear alarms go off, and simply ignore them? no one pays attention to them anymore...In my opinion something like low-jack or those kind of products would be more affective....and if someone trys to carjack you in this truck...they got a long way to climb up to get to ya...

Keep rollin'

You're right about someone taking your truck if they want it bad enough. However, park two like vehicles in a parking lot, one with an alarm and one without. Who gets broken into? We all know the answer to that question.
My Clifford system is so loud and obnoxious that everyone has to look at it so they can scream about it hurting their ears. The siren tone is not that every day tone, it is a single piercing tone. People do look when the alarm goes off. Sure if they wanted they coould get inside, but they can't get off with the truck. Between the starter disable as a first defense and the Blackjack Feature following second, if they could move the truck, it would only go about 200 yards before it became totally useless with the alarm and every light flashing and screaming at them.
Todays alarms are so advanced that the average car theif can't just run off with our vehicles. Not all theifs are capable of pulling the "Gone In 60 Seconds" stuff. I will agree that your cheap alarms out there that you always see on special through local car audio places are totally worthless. But there are the true high end systems like the Clifford that really can protect your vehicle. It is a piece of mind for me as well as many others knowing that we have some kind of protection.
