Question So whats the right price?

I went to dealer Friday to finalize my order. He is selling it for $200 over invoice. One other dealer will do $99 over invoice but I dont think they can get it as quick. Anyway, on the invoice he printed out it says invoice for 4x4 XLT supercrew is $26,337. The price lists I got via internet from Sunrise Ford say invoice is &26,165. Anyone know the right answer?

Scooby14B,
...The differnce might be the FDAF (Ford Dealer Advertising Assessment) and the 10 gallon gas charge from the factory. The gas charge is a pretty standard $20.50 and the FDAF ranges by location from about $180 to $250. Most internet services don't show these but they are a legitimate part of the dealer invoice. Good luck !

Question

So you're telling me you are able to buy a XLT 4x4 Screw for under $27,000? Does it come with an engine? That sounds really cheap. Usuaully if you can get 12% under the MSRP price, that is about as low as a dealer can go.

Scooby-
I ran into the exact same thing. I was using invoice as quoted by Edmonds which is $26,165. When I went to the dealer he said invoice was $26,337. I figured he was trying to pull a fast one but when I got home I checked a few more sites like NADAguide and autosite and they list it as $26,337. The only explanation I've come up with is the one FishermanScrew said. The extra $170 is probably $150 FDAF and $20 gas. Both legit from what I've learned.

By the way, keep checking other dealers. I received an e-mail quote of about $300 under invoice from a dealer 150 miles away and my local dealer came within $50 of matching it. Just send out mass e-mails to a bunch of dealers in your state. The Ford website lists them all.

Good point, sth. The Ford Web site has a dealer link that lists dealers near you. I haven't gotten to this stage yet to try it, but the Dealers have links for their Internet Sales rep. You can e-mail directly to the Internet Sales person at each dealer if they have one. A great way to get some competition between dealers if you ask me...

The invoice is listed as $26,337. FDAF is $130. 10 US GAL is $19. Then other options. I went by another dealer today and the invoice they give in $26,165. They will sell for $99 over invoice. But their allocation is low and the other dealer pretty much said it would 5-6 weeks. 6 at most. Plus it is closest to my future home. Their service department is great also.

I bought a 2001 gen 3 Supercrew lariat 4x4 5.4 tow pkg, leather, moonroof, keypad entry, off-road pkg, six disk, 17 inch tires, antilock brakes, keyless entry, pretty much everything. The window was 35,400 and because I had so many problems with my previous ford 97 ld 250 xlt they gave me dealer invoice of 31,589

I would also reccomend making sure you know whether or not he has figured your rebate into the price or not. I have seen people agree to a price and find out later the dealer needed to keep the rebate to give them that price.

I just got a new F150 SCrew 4X4 XLT last week. I was told by two different dealers that the invoice was $26,165, plus $149 FADF and gas, plus $715 for destination and delivery. That totals $27,029. I got it for $453 under that and he met me an hour and a half from his dealership to pick it up. I found that calling and e-mailing works better to get the lowest price. Edmunds.com was a big help too. I also paid extra for the 5.4L, tow package, and off road package. Make sure you only pay invoice price on the options too. That's where Edmunds.com helps.
