Greetings, thank you for the 1-800 number,
I called it and posted the following threads on another page.
Called 1-800-392-Ford and talked to a rep who took my VIN and put me on hold twice and came back with the same as parts guy.
Only one radiator for the 5.4
I then told him of the basis for my claim,
which is the 2001 Ford f-150 E-Source book
and multiple threads from my fellow screw owners. He then said he was putting the claim in for investigation and I should
hear from them in a few days. I will keep you posted. In the meantime, if you have already spoken to the dealer, - and they
will ask - try calling that 1-800 number
on the top of my thread and put in
your .02 cents.

Been following the threads with interest, have a 2001 HD SCrew ordered up. A friend of mine tows a 22' tandem axle trailer, app. 7500 GVW, with his....through the mountains, summer heat, etc. We checked his radiator tonight....1.02" He says even with the load, never heated above halfway point. Besides, with the warranty, if it burns up, they're gonna fix it anyway.
Any place to see the F150 source book online?

phillyrube-

carefull with what you think. They will find a way not to replace it if they can. The will insect the trailer, have it weighed and so on to be able to prove that "their" vehicle was not the cause of the problem, it was your trailer. I have seen it happen before. I have the same problem with my radiator, and I tow 4 different trailers, the heaviest being a 26' boat that comes in about 9750LBS dry with no fuel or water. I have actually had a problem with my truck running warmer than normal when pulling a trailer. Hopefully someone can find out how we can all get this crap fixed.

Maybe I missed something. Are you complaining that your truck gets hot when you are towing a trailer that exceeds the tow rating by over a ton?

Thumbs down

Called the # and spoke with a Ford minion, she says it's a sales issue - go to the dealer and get what you ordered. I will. She says I should have gotten a radiator upgrade. I doubt if the dealer concurs, but I will ask him anyway.

I think we've all been ripped off. I smell a class action lawsuit brewing.....

Well RamblinWreck-

Sounds like an engineering problem to me. Must have been those darn Georgia Tech grads fouling things up at the Ford plant! Maybe you can contact one of those UGA lawyers to help out our cause!

Yeah, I'm a UGA guy. I just had to say something because your username was so obvious.

Hope the Jackets do well in the NCAA tourney. I am shocked we are even there!

Cool

Blame it on the engineers, just like a durn Dawg! More likely a freakin' bean-counter lawyer's cost-cutting idea in the first place.

Well, we both have good taste in transportation. Did you know the F150 is the most common vehicle owned by millionaires? Yup, heard it on Boortz.

No, I didn't know that. Hmm, I will look for Bill Gates in one. Gotta love Boortz!

You know with that handle, a lot of folks will think you are unhappy with your Ford!

You are probably right about the lawyers, though. Of course, it couldn't be a UGA lawyer, because they are probably all millionaires and F-150 owners themselves!

Dewey, Cheatham, and Howe....

I love my SCrew but I dislike every dealer I've ever dealt with. My truck has not seen the dealership since I picked it up. But I will have to take it back for my new RADIATOR!!

Gates lives in Kansas? I did not know that.... Say, any good deer hunting around there? I wanna get me a big Kansas B&C to haul back to GA in my SCrew....

I actually had a good relationship with my dealer duringmy recent car buying ordeal. Of course, the Internet helps. I was able to work out an agreeable price through the Internet and on the phone without having to deal with all the pressure tactics. I liked that because I feel like the dealer made a small profit (after all, they are a business) and I didn't feel like I was put through the ringer. All in all, a win-win in my book. Now, we will see how the radiator thing goes!

No, Gates doesn't live in Kansas, but he is on the news all the time. I just grabbed any ol' billionaire I could think of.

There is supposedly some great deer hunting out here. I spend most of my time in Missouri though fishing for lunker bass! I am hoping to catch one that is too big for the bed in my S'Crew!

My dealer order all three radiators and I got to check them out. Here's the real specs and part #.
XL3Z-8005-DA this is the 1.02" one row

YL3Z-8005-GA this is the 1.42" one row

F75Z-8005-GB this is the 2.20" two row

These are listed for the 2001 5.4L.

The XL3H------AB, XL3H-8005-DA and the XL3Z-8005-DA are the same 1.02".

The YL3H-8005-GA and the YL3Z-8005-GA are the same 1.42".

The F75H-8005-GA is the super cooling rad for the 2001 Lightning the F75Z-8005-FA is the same rad used in the 98-99 super cooled F150's and is the same as in the 97 super cooled F150's. The 2.02" 2 row rads are all the same from 97-2001 just a part # change. The dealer and I compared and measured all of the above radiators.

The 1.42" has much more mass that the 1.02" and the 1.42" has a little bigger tank on the one side. But the 2.02" rad is huge next to both and the tank on the one side is bigger than both of the others. I had the 2.02" on my other F150's and the fan never kick on and the AC was always nice and cool. Not like on my 2001 SCrew fan kick on AC get warm and I know it's because of this 1.02" rad we'll see next week.

They will be installing the 2.02" rad this week.
