Question Rear Slider or Not?

Can anyone give me pro and cons of ordering the rear sliding window?

pros == you can throw your beer can to the bed of the truck -

I thought the purpose of a slider was to "slide thru" to a camper shell or be able to grab something from the bed. Since the slider on these trucks will only allow a toddler thru, I didn't get it. I think I can see better without those slider lines running down the back also, like my other truck had.

On the Supercrew, the window is so far back ir rarely gets usd. I have not used is once in a year and I live in the south and love to ride with the windows down.

Don't use it often, draws in too much air...use the moonroof!

On a supercrew if you will have back seat passengers often then I say yes to the slider. My kid loves to be able to open it up. the back seat is sort of his little domain, the slider lets him feel a part of the fun.
On a supercab I can see it being more useful, yes it is small but still gives access to the bed.
As to the frame of the slider blocking the view I really never notice it, I really don't think that is enough reason not to get it. Just my 2 cents. Take care,

Heres something to consider also. If you plan on keeping something expensive inside such as a stereo that some punk might want, sliders make it about a 2 second job to get in.

My kids use the slider all the time. I can't reach it from the front. I wish Ford had offered a power slider or alternately a heated rear window (non slider) as an option.

I would probably, if I were doing it again, get a plain rear window and use the extra money to help pay for an after market power sliding rear window.

My thoughts on the rear slider in the SCrew.
I didn't order it in mine because with the sunroof and four power window, didn't see the need. From the drivers seat, you can't reach the window to open it. Also, I've had some friends who have had their trucks broken in through the rear slider. After driving mine with the windows down and sunroof open, I don't see the need for ventilation through the rear slider. Maybe if you had a camper shell where you wanted access. With kids, I didn't want them messing with it . Now if you could get a power window like on the Sport Trac, that's a different story....

I go fishing alot. I can stick my large poles through the slider. I find this necessary now with the bed being so short on the Screw.

as others have state above:

for front passengers; not much use for ventilation

for rear seat; it's there if they want it

for hauling cargo; nice to have option if your bring home 8 - 10 ft timber.

A power slider would be nice. Not being able to reach it from the drivers seat makes it tough to use.
