Question How long for those that ordered?

How long is it taking those that ordered their Super Crew to get them? My dealer said 8-12 weeks is what they always say though sometimes it is sooner. Anyone get theirs in less than 8 weeks?

I ordered mine on 1-26, built 2-26, released 3-1 and got my latest ETA this afternoon of 3-15. My dealer also mentioned to expect it earlier. Hope he's right, can't wait to enjoy it.

I ordered my 2001 lariat 4x4 supercrew, Jan 25, 2001, and i called the assembly plant yesterday and they told me the build date was 3/5. They said it should arrive at the dealer between March 19-26, that's estimated time, she said it could be sooner or later. So if you order it, it's definately worth the wait. Good Luck!!

Ordered 6 JAN, picked up 5 MAR (could have picked up 2 MAR). Under 8 weeks ! Good luck.
P.S. Wrong radiator, and missing wire shield cover next to battery (good thing to look for, earlier post covers it in more detail)

barngoddess,

I noticed you stating that you received the wrong radiator. If you don't mind me asking, what did the dealer do or say about it? Are the compensating you for it, or will they change the radiator out?

As I was reading this thread my dealer called and said that the information I was given two days ago about the E.T.A of my truck was wrong. I was told 3/19, and when I asked what the real date would be he said Friday. He said it was sitting right outside his window. He also said everyone, even the office lady who hates everything, was drooling over it ( hope they clean that off). Was told 8-10 weeks when ordered. came in in 7-1/2. Gotta go rustle up the money now. Whooraayyyy!!!

I expect that your order lead time will depend on the vehicle allotments allocated to your dealer and what kind of price you negotiated. If you got a price close to invoice from a dealer with a small allotment, you could be looking at quite a delay before you see your truck.

I ordered my SCrew on 12/20/00. It sat in the system until 3/6 without ever being assigned a VIN or a build date. I finally ditched my local dealer and found a similar truck from a large-volume dealer a couple of hours away from my house. I pick up my new truck tomorrow! Woo-hoo!

My advice is to check your order confirmation and make sure you have been assigned a high priority (10 is best) and call the VOPC frequently (1-800-374-7426). If you don't get a VIN assigned within 2-3 weeks, I would start to turn up the heat on the dealer to get your order moving.

I wish you the best of luck with your order.

Ordered 12/20/00 (priority 11): "clean and unscheduled" as of 3/6/01
Cancelled order - 3/7/01
2001 SuperCrew Lariat - Oxford White/Silver
- 5.4L
- 3.55 L/S
- Tow Package
- Moonroof
- 60/40 bench
- Slider
- CD Changer

I ordered it 2/22 through fleet sales at a fairly large dealership. It has a priority of 12 which the dealer said was good and that most are given a 16, but it hasn't been scheduled to be built yet... Since this is the first truck I've ordered, I don't know if this is sounding good or not. What do you all think?

SuperCrewMark - I think a priority of 12 isn't optimum. 10 is best. I ordered mine 2/17 and had a build date one week later. If you don't get a build date soon, I'd raise hull.
Melonbelly - I only get the build date when I call VOPC. Do you know if not having a VIN assigned yet is a problem, or having a build date means everythings cool?

Ordered 2/17, Scheduled 3/19.

Coastie,

If Ford is giving you a build date when you call the VOPC, then everything should be good-to-go. My order never got that far.

MelonBelly, coastie,

So I can call VOCP to get a VIN and build date? What info do I need to tell them when I call? Thanks!
