Angry Screwed!!!

Well, Here I sit waiting for my Screw to be built. I ordered it 12/16/00. Guess what, as of 2/8 my Screw is still listed as "clean, unscheduled". I have called the dealership a number of times as to its status and have used the VOPC number almost daily. Well, found out that the sales manager that put my order in gave it a priority 99 - which means basically, "Uh, just built it when you get around to it". Well, guess what. I might as well have ordered it yesterday! Damnit!

It turns out that both the sales manager and the salesman bolted from my dealership to work for a competing Ford dealer and never bothered to make sure my order was listed as a priority 10(the fastest, I'm told). They just left me in the cold.

Now, I sit here two months later and I am going to lose my chance at getting my truck in February so that I can take advantage of the 0.9% financing in my area. I am livid. I should be getting delivery of my truck next week, instead I'll be lucky to get it by the end of March!!

Anybody had similar experiences and how did you solve them?

Sounds like those two were being vindictive against their old boss and were using the customers to 'screw' him. I wonder how many other customers they did that to?

You would be playing right into their hands to 'reward' them by having anything to do with the other dealership.

Maybe they were fired for that kind of crap.

Unemployment is or has been low.

See if they'll honor the financing. Seems like they ought to.

Klooger, I am in a similar situation. I ordered my truck on 12/20. It is still "clean and unscheduled". How did you find out the priority assigned to the order? Were you able to get the priority bumped-up?

Not much of an upside but, I believe the seats have changed three times since you ordered.

I just found out from my salesman that my order has a priority of 11. So, I guess I can't blame the delays on the priority . If the status doesn't change in the next couple of weeks, I may end up cancelling the order until the 2002 models come out.

------------------
Ordered 12/20/00 (priority 11): "clean and unscheduled" as of 2/8/01
2001 SuperCrew Lariat - Oxford White/Silver
- 5.4L
- 3.55 L/S
- Tow Package
- Moonroof
- Slider
- Bed Extender

Melonbelly:

The dealer called me today after I paid them a visit this morning. They said that regardless of delivery they would honor the 0.9% financing as long as I filled out the paperwork by the end of this month and there was a VIN number issued for the truck(which there should be). They also moved up my priority to a category 10, which is the highest....you should see it on your order that the dealer drew up when you ordered originally.

I asked him about the 2002 models and he said that the 0.9% financing was strictly for 2001 models only. I asked about the 2002 model availability...he said he was not aware of any near term offerings for the Supercrew. I guess what I am saying is you might be waiting some time for a 2002 and what the changes will be, if any, I couldn't tell you. Hope that helps.

I will give them credit for trying to make a wrong into a right.

I think I would of had a dealer locate me one, I couldnt stand the wait. I know you dont get all the options you want but at least you will have your truck in the driveway.

I ordered mine on 1/15 and called again to confirm build date which is 2/19 and will be at the dealer about 10 days later.

Good luck with getting your SCrew!

Klooger,

Thanks for the heads-up on the financing. I will make sure to get the paperwork going once I get a VIN assigned.

My salesman did another vehicle search and was able locate 1 SCrew in California that had the options I want (see my sig). It is supposed to be arriving in from the factory in a couple a days to a dealer somewhere in the LA area. Who knows, I might just get lucky.

Wink

I ordered my Screw on 1/20 and like 98XLT it is "Locked-in" for build the week of 2/19 and should be in my driveway the first week of March.

My dealer, Sheehy Ford in Gaithersburg, MD, has been pretty good so far. We had a little incident with a new sales manager who couldn't read or write. Any way I was at the dealer do a personal status check on my vehicle and the GM, Scott, said that he would take a look on the computer on Monday and see if there was anything available that was very similar to my order and he called with three candidates on Monday at about 11:00 AM. I told him that I am just anixous to get my Screw and was in on Saturday just to get a status. I guess my repeat business is importanct to them.

98XLT,

The dealer did try to locate one for me with my specs. He got close with two but fell short on the seats, I ordered captains chairs(heated) and the best he could come up with was the 60/40 split bench. I said no deal. I'm shelling out $32,000 for my truck and it is going to have what I want on it. And for that stance my fate is one of wait....and wait...and....wait.

As far as the interest rate, maybe you can lock in if you explain and give copy of order acknowledgement.

Why don't you order the truck at least three or more dealers and see which one arrive first? You are not stuck with that dealer, aren't you?
Who cares if the belated trucks arrives at the other dealers after you pick up your new Screw at the earliest convience time?
Just trying to help...

Ordering at more than one dealer is not really doable (at least in my area) because the dealers want a deposit before they will submit the order. Also, my local dealer was the only one that quoted a reasonable price (around $500 over invoice). The others were quoting $800-1000 over invoice.
