Hey Pesos,
Congrats on the truck. I would nix the duraliner and go with sprayed in bedliner such as Line-X. In long run, you won't be sorry!

Cool

The sprayed in bedliner adheres to ever contour of the truck bed. Tie downs can be taken out prior to installation and reassembled thereafter. Tailgate cover plate is taken off and spayed separate giving you easy access to locking mechanism. Guaranteed for life not to peel, crack, or chip. Any problems, though, can be easily remedied with overspray done free of charge by distributor.

My Line-X distributor had a duraliner sitting in his bay that someone left when went to spray-in. Installer said he's found all sorts of items underneath dropped in bedliners including rust! A duraliner costs about $150-$200, right. For $350, you can get the spray-in.

I have heard that Line-X is being installed on decks of submarines. With saltwater and underwater pressures to contend with, that says alot about the product. Ask around, I'm sure others will agree.

The Only Thing Wrong with a spray in liner is that it doesnt give u any addtional protection sure it is a continuous seal be great rust , scratch protection . But Duraliner is a additional skin 1/8" thick and with the outer skin being fiberglass i kinda like the idea of having the iner skin being there to beef the bed up some
shrug just my $.02 cents

i think i remember someone on the board posting that they had their dealer drop a quart of oil into the bed before installing the duraliner to avoid rust... is this a common thing?

Another thing I know about drop-ins is they vibrate. Vibration causes paint wear. I have seen this on other trucks. I've heard of additional pads put underneath them to limit vibration. I've also seen them gouged out and cut. Therefore, protection is minimal.

Thumbs up

I just told the dealer to add the bed liner today. I have one in my old truck, been in for 10 years. Sure it has rub marks in the bed, but once a year I take it off, clean it out and wax underneath. For loading rocks, gravel, lumber .. and other generally heavy and destructive things my bedliner has been great. I can not imagine what a spray in liner would look like after that kind of treatment.

Cool

I used to have bedliner in my last two trucks and I am not quite happy with getting the rust and rub marks on the bed.
So I am going to have the Line-X on my new Screw. I have seen enough of those spray-on liners on other trucks and stuff for the last few years. My brother is going to have Line-X on his aluminum john boat for better foot traction. I have seen Line-X on the decks, docks, commercial boats, horse trailers(floor & walls), retaining walls, roofs, foundations, stairs on ferry boats, just about ANYTHING! I have seen other kinds like RhinoLining and Duraliners(sp?). The RhinoLining are okay if you like a very thick rough texture kind of spray-on liner. I went to one of the boat shows couple years ago and the guy (exhibitor) asked me if I got a pocket knife. So I pull out my ole' pocket knife and tried to cut / scratch on those Line-X liner but I couldn't nick one bit!
The advantage is that it is a good protection against chemicals, salt, water, fuel, paint, bleaches, solvents, fertilizers and much more.
I know that the Line-X will resists impact, cuts, & gouges from tools like shovel, hammer and stuff like gravel.
I was told by a friend of mine that if there's any scratch on his Line-X on his truck bed, he can take his truck back to the Line-X dealer for free retouch job because of lifetime warranty (as long as you own the truck).
Need I say more?

Cool

Those I know who initially had a drop-in bedliner and then switched to a spray-in bedliner never regreted it and will never go back to a drop-in.

HEY CREW COACH,
Where did you get that information about submarines using Line-X on their decks?
I'm stationed onboard a submarine and have heard nothing about the change.

Don't forget about the BedRug! I love mine, it costs about the same as a spray-in liner and gives me exactly what I'm looking for in a liner. It protects the bed and I have a cap and carry around my dog and take it on the beach for Surf-Fishing so I want a bedliner that is comfortable for me and the dog. They look great and clean up easy too. It is also easy to remove if you ever wanted/needed to.
